一、教学目标

四、教学过程
(一)Warming-up(5 分钟)
1. Greetings and free talk
Greet the students and have a free talk about their favorite sports.
Ask some questions like: "What's your favorite sport? Do you often play it?"
2. Lead-in
Show some pictures of different sports and ask students to name them.
Then introduce the topic of this lesson: "Today we'll talk about how often we
do these sports."
(二)Presentation(10 分钟)
1. Present the frequency adverbs
Present the frequency adverbs "seldom, sometimes, often, hardly ever" on the
PPT and explain their meanings and usage with examples.
For example: "I often play basketball. She seldom goes swimming. They
hardly ever watch TV."
2. Listen to 2a
Play the recording of 2a for the first time. Students just listen and try to get the
main idea.
Play it for the second time. Students listen and fill in the blanks.
Check the answers together.
(三)Practice(10 分钟)
1. Read 2b
Students read the conversation in 2b silently and tick the correct boxes to show
how often the students do each sport.
Check the answers in pairs.
2. Retell the conversation
Ask students to retell the conversation with the information from the table in
2b. Encourage them to use the frequency adverbs correctly.
Invite some students to retell in front of the class.
(四)Production(15 分钟)
1. Listen and match
Play the recording of 2d again. Students match the stress patterns with the
coloured sentences.

2. Role-play
Students practice the conversation in pairs, paying attention to the
pronunciation and intonation.
Invite some pairs to role-play in front of the class.
3. Group work
Divide the students into groups of four. Imagine they have found an item at a
sports centre and make up a conversation using the words and sentences provided in 2e.
Walk around the classroom and offer help if needed.
Ask some groups to present their conversations.
(五)Summary and Homework(5 分钟)
1. Summary
Summarize the key points of this lesson, including the frequency adverbs and
the expressions about sports and their frequencies.
Encourage students to keep a healthy lifestyle by doing sports regularly.
2. Homework
Interview three of your friends about their sports and record the results.
