(I) Leading in(5 minutes)

into the world of fairy tales.
2. Ask the students: " What happened in the story?"Encourage students to answer
in simple English to lead to the concept of a general past tense.
(II) Grammar presentation (10 minutes)
1. Show the sentences in Grammar Focus. Let the students read aloud and
observe the structure and verb form of the sentences.
Did you read Little Women for English class?
Do you know the story of The Emperor's New Clothes?
How did the mouse help the lion?
What did the brothers do?
2. Guide students to summarize the structural characteristics of the questions and
statements in the past, and emphasize the changes of the past.
3. Explain the change rules of the past style of verbs, such as regular verbs plus-
ed, and the special change forms of irregular verbs, and let the students deepen their
understanding through examples.
(III) Practice and consolidation (15 minutes)
1. Complete the exercise of 3a
Let the students read the sentences, judge the tense used, and think about what
circumstances to use that tense.
Please answer the questions, and the teacher will comment on them and
supplement them.
2. Complete the exercise in 3b
Students choose the correct form of verbs to fill in the blanks.
Check the answers between each other, and then the teacher explains the easy
points.
3. Complete exercise 3c
Students should fill in the blanks with the passage independently, and pay
attention to the tense and form of the verb.
Invite students to share answers and the class to discuss and correct together.
(IV) Group discussion and sharing (10 minutes)
1. Organize the students to have group discussions, let the students share their
favorite fairy tales, and try to tell the main plot of the story in the general past.
2. Each group will elect a representative to share the most wonderful stories in the
group with the whole class.
3. Students from other groups listened carefully, and asked questions and made
comments after the sharing.
