六、Teaching Procedure
Step 1: Warming-up (5 minutes)
1. Greet the students and have a free talk about the weather today.
T: Good morning, class! How's the weather today?

2. Show some pictures of different weather conditions (sunny, rainy, snowy, cloudy,
windy) and ask students to guess the weather.
T: Look at this picture. What's the weather like?
Ss: It's sunny.
Step 2: Pre-listening (5 minutes)
1. Present the questions in 2a and ask students to predict the answers based on the
title and pictures.
T: Look at the title and the pictures. What do you think Anna and Bill will talk
about?
Ss: They will talk about the weather and activities.
2. Teach the new vocabulary: sunbathing, build a snowman
T: (Show the picture of sunbathing) This is sunbathing. People lie in the sun to
get tanned. (Show the picture of building a snowman) This is building a snowman. We
make a snowman in the snow.
Step 3: While-listening (10 minutes)
1. Play the recording of 2a for the first time. Students listen and fill in the blanks.
T: Now, let's listen to the conversation and fill in the blanks.
2. Check the answers.
T: Let's check the answers. What's the weather like in Sanya?
Ss: It's hot.
T: What's Anna doing at the beach?
Ss: She's sunbathing.
T: What's John doing?
Ss: He's swimming right now.
Step 4: Post-listening (5 minutes)
1. Students read the conversation in 2b and complete the table.
T: Now, read the conversation and complete the table.
2. Check the answers and have students retell the conversation based on the table.

Step 5: Role-play (5 minutes)
1. Play the recording of 2c again. Students listen and pay attention to the rhythm of

T: Now, practice the conversation with your partner. Then I'll invite some pairs
to act it out.
Step 6: Group discussion (5 minutes)

most.

2. Students work in groups of four and discuss the activities they can do in different
weather.
T: Now, work in groups of four and talk about the activities you can do in
different weather.
Step 7: Make a conversation (5 minutes)
1. Present the expressions in 2e and explain how to use them.
T: Look at these expressions. We can use them to make a conversation about the
weather and activities.
2. Imagine you are calling a friend. Students make conversations with their partners
based on the given situation.
T: Now, imagine you are calling a friend. Make a conversation with your
partner.
3. Invite some pairs to present their conversations to the class.
Step 8: Summary and Homework (5 minutes)
1. Summarize the key points of this lesson.
T: Today, we learned about different weather conditions and activities. We also
practiced having conversations about them.
2. Assign homework: Write a short passage about your favorite weather and the
activities you like to do in that weather.
