常见的表示例证关系的标志词语有:for example, for instance, infact/as a matter of fact, actually, in other words/that is to say等。 表示转折关系的标志词语有: but, however, yet, 转折关系 while/though/although, or/otherwise, on the contrary, instead, nevertheless(然而), still, in contrast/comparison, by comparison等。 表示因果关系的标志词语有:so, therefore, thus, consequently(结 因果关系 果), as a result (of), so/such ...that ..., so that ... 表示递进关系的标志词语有:too, also, 递进关系 besides, further, furthermore, moreover, likewise, similarly, what's more, what's worse, in addition, as well, to make matters worse, not ... but ..., not only ... but also等。 并列关系 表示并列关系的标志词语有:and, first(ly), second(ly); first, then/next; to begin with, some ... others ...; for one thing, for another thing; then/next, finally/last等。 (2023春·广东湛江·高二统考阶段练习)Many people imagine that shade in a garden is a problem. It may explain why people who are afraid to cry often suffer more heart attacks than people who cry more freely.(当你因为非常强烈的感情而感到自己快要爆发时,眼泪会帮助你。 15.根据后文“It’s good to hold back tears during a tense business discussion. “But once you are safely behind closed doors, don’t just cry,” Diamond says. She suggests that you act out the whole situation again and be as noisy and angry as you like. It will help you feel better. “And,” she adds, “once your tears have released the stress, you can begin to think of logical ways to deal with the problem.”(在紧张的商务讨论中忍住眼泪是件好事。 (2023春·辽宁鞍山·高二鞍山一中校考期中)I love travelling. I understood that it was a card for the bus. The man paid for my bus ride. A.I started to panic. B.Few things seemed to work. C.It is still vivid in my mind now. D.One place I will never forget is Romania. E.Worse still, I was stopped by policemen on the bus. F.However, the buses connecting to the airports are more modern. G.Fast forward to my last day, I planned to take the bus to Bucharest Airport. 16.根据前文“One of my fondest memories of travel is when I spent a few days backpacking in Bucharest, Romania. An unexpected act of kindness from a stranger truly made me feel moved.(我最美好的旅行回忆之一 是我在罗马尼亚的布加勒斯特背包旅行了几天。 和下一 段中“The first day I arrived in Bucharest I had to take the bus from the train station to my accommodation.(到 达布加勒斯特的第一天,我必须从火车站乘公共汽车到我的住处。)” 符合语境,其中的“It”指前文的“An unexpected act of kindness from a stranger”,“vivid in my mind”可以引起下一段开始的回忆。故选C。 17.根据前文“I boarded the bus and found out that none of my cards worked and I wasn’t able to buy a ticket. 和后文“Although I explained that it wasn’t my intention and I had just arrived from Brasov, they still didn’t believe me and fined me for not having a ticket.(虽然我解释说这不是我的本意,我刚从布拉索夫来,但他们仍然不相信我,并因为我没有票而罚 款。)” 18.根据前文“You have to purchase a card at certain places in the city, top it up with money, and then pay onboard.(你必须在城市的某些地方买一张卡,充满钱,然后在车上付款。)”和后文“You can use wireless pay to purchase a ticket.(你可以用无线支付买票。)” 19.根据后文“After I got on the bus, I found the ticket machine to be the same as the one I had met with on my first day in Bucharest.(上车后,我发现售票机和我在布加勒斯特第一天遇到的那台一样。)” 20.根据前文“I tried in vain every method, including wireless pay, Apple Pay and cash.(我尝试了各种方法, 包括无线支付、Apple Pay和现金,但都徒劳无用。)” 故选A。 (2023春·江苏南京·高二校联考期中)Establishing healthy boundaries with yourself will help you stay within your range of control and prioritize what matters most. Honor your limits ____23____Trying to please everyone makes you vulnerable (脆弱的). The truth is you have limited energy and time. It is important that you are wise with your resources. The importance of honoring your limits is highlighted by the Greek mythological story. The story is a reminder that pushing yourself too hard for too long ultimately comes at a cost. Acknowledge the offense. This is an essential element of a good apology. ___31___Apologies are most likely to be well-received if you show that you recognize who was responsible and who was harmed. For example, saying “I made a mistake” is more effective than saying“mistakes were made”, which fails to clarify responsibility. ___32___In some cases, it’s helpful to explain an offense, especially to explain that it was not intentional and that it will not happen again. But explanations that are long-winded, sound like excuses, or blame the victim (e. g. You were really getting on my nerves.) tend to have an opposite effect. Express regret.___33___ Expressing these feelings communicates that you recognize and regret the suffering you caused. Be careful of phrases like “That was uncharacteristic of me.” ___34___ Instead, acknowledge your disappointment in yourself and your commitment to improve. Tell them how you’ll change. Let them know how you’ll change and what you’d do to make that possible. For instance, if you’ve been late once again, instead of just apologizing, share how you’d keep an early alarm to be on time! ___35___ A.Provide a proper explanation. B.Express your intention clearly. C.But many apologies don’t do this enough. D.When you hurt someone, it’s natural to feel shame or regret. E.A true apology is one where you promise it won’t be repeated again. F.This might show that you aren’t taking full ownership for what happened. G.This will enable you to know what means the most to the offended person. 31.下文“Apologies are most likely to be well-received if you show that you recognize who was responsible and who was harmed. You were really getting on my nerves.) tend to have an opposite effect.(在某些 情况下,解释一个冒犯是有帮助的,尤其是解释它不是故意的,并且不会再发生。 故选A项。 33.根据下文“Expressing these feelings communicates that you recognize and regret the suffering you caused. (表达这些感受表明你认识到并后悔你造成的痛苦)”和指代关系可知,上文中会出现“these feelings”指代 的情绪,同时这些情绪和给别人带来痛苦有关,D项“When you hurt someone, it’s natural to feel shame or regret. 34.上文“Be careful of phrases like ‘That was uncharacteristic of me.’(小心像“那不是我的风格”这样的措 词)”提出在表达道歉时,用些措词要慎用,F项“This might show that you aren’t taking full ownership for what happened.(这可能表明你没有为发生的事情承担全部责任)”解释了原因:说“那不是我的风格”说明 自己并没有为发生的事情承担全部责任。 35.上文“Tell them how you’ll change. Let them know how you’ll change and what you’d do to make that possible.(告诉他们你会如何改变。 (2023春·江苏盐城·高二盐城市第一中学校联考期中)Public speaking is the act of speaking to a large group of people in a highly organized manner.____36____The ability to speak confidently in public not only will make you stand out while in college, but also will enable you to play an active role in your workplace in the future.
