world and how to protect the animals in the last few periods. So we can guide them to talk about
how to save the earth only by doing some small things around us every day. They have much
interest in learning to express their own opinions. But they still need to develop the good
learning habit with the teacher’s help. And they should value the cooperation and
communication so that they can improve the level of English.

Step 2. Presentation
1 Present the word napkin.
Look at this, what’s it? It’s a napkin.
What’s it made of?
How often do you use paper napkins?
What’s the influence if we use paper napkins every day?
What will you do in the future?
2 Present the word recycle.
Ask what’s this?
What’s it made of?
What’s it used for?
How do you parents deal with the empty boxes after they drink up the tea?
I reuse them. Let ‘s recycle them.
What will you do with the boxes next time?
What else can we recycle in our everyday life? Have the students make a list of
them, such as water, plastic bags, glass, paper…..Are these efforts big or small?

Step 3 Practice
Look at these things on the screen and have them say Which are easier for you to
do so? Why?
Read 1b. Make your own conversations about the things on the list. Present in
pairs and pay attention to using the infinitive forms or gerund.
Ask a student: According to the environmental protection, what things are you
doing now? What will you never do? What things will you never do?
Say Julie and Jack are talking about the same subject. Read the things in 1c and
listen. Check the answers. Then listen again and finish 1d.
Step 4 Practice
Discuss with each other to list the small bad things that some people are doing to
destroy the environment.
List some small good things that you are doing to protect the environment.
Write down the ideas on the small pieces of paper and have someone read and
put the paper on the blackboard to make a great big tree.
