【原文】M: Let’s go to the movie after the dinner at the Rose Hotel. It’s all my treat.
W: Wow, that’s great. I am wondering whether to watch Ted shows at home or go out for a walk
along the beach tonight.
2.C
【原文】W: Robert is really good at languages. He is fluent in French, and now he’s learning
German.
M: He also knows a little Russian. And I hear that he even wants to learn Chinese.
3.B
【原文】W: So you need some information on animal cells? Check the top shelf and you may find
what you want.
M: Oh, I see. May I borrow one for a day or two?
W: Sorry! The reference books are not for lending.
4.B
【原文】W: Did you see the film on Wednesday?
M: No, I went on Thursday night. Did you, on Wednesday?
W: I was going, too, but could not make it. I think I’ll go on Saturday night.
5.B
【原文】W: So Mr Torres, how did you hear about this job?
M: I had previously learned about your company from a friend and then I saw your advertisement
of the job online. I clicked on it and it brought me to your company's website, where I applied for
the position.
W: Make sense.
6.B 7.A
【原文】W: Good afternoon, sir. How can I help you?
M: Hi, I’m on Flight CA410 to Beijing tomorrow. I was wondering if it’s possible to request a seat
with more legroom? I’m quite tall.
W: Let me check... I’m afraid all the exit row and bulkhead seats have been assigned. You could
try checking in online exactly 24 hours before departure. Sometimes those seats become available
then.
M: Okay, I’ll do that. Thanks for the tip.
W: You’re welcome. Alternatively, you can also ask at the check-in counter tomorrow, but I can’t
guarantee availability.
8.B 9.C
【原文】W: Have you finished preparing your presentation for tomorrow’s environmental science
class?
M: Almost, but I’m having trouble finding the latest data on air quality improvements in cities. I
know there have been important improvements. I just don’t know how to show them.
W: Have you looked at the National Environment Agency’s website? They updated their numbers
last month, and they usually include reports and charts that could be very helpful.
M: Thanks, that could really help me show some data more clearly and give me some useful facts
to support my points about reducing pollution.
W: Also, consider talking about the new laws. They have led to better air in several big cities.
10.B 11.C 12.A
【原文】W: Jack, how did you get to school when you were in primary school?
M: I lived close to my school, so I walked every day. Why?
W: Well, I remember that when we were kids, we often walked, rode a bike or caught the bus to
school. Few of us were dropped off at the school gate by our parents.
M: I see what you mean, these days you can see traffic jams around schools that drop off at pick-
up times, but it’s hard to blame the parents. They have good reasons for driving their kids to
school, mostly to do with safety and convenience.
W: You have a point there, but it could also mean children are missing out on much needed
exercise and other life skills. Some parents are just being over-protective with their children
learning nothing, but living in fear of everything. Studies have found that children who spend more
time outside tend to be healthier, better adjusted and better at dealing with stress.

【原文】M: Good morning. Can I help you?
W: Yes, I’ve got a reservation. My name is Hilary Langley.
M: Just a moment, please. How do you spell your last name?
W: A L A L G L E Y Langley.
M: Well, I’m sorry, but we don’t seem to have a reservation for you.
W: There must be some mistake. I’m attending a conference in the city and my secretary told me
that the conference organizer made the reservation for me.
M: I see. No, I’m sorry. You are not booked in here.
W: Well, but can you find me a single room anyway?
M: I’m afraid there’s nothing available at the moment.
W: Look, I really need a room here. Can I talk to your manager?
M: The manager is away on business, but well, I may be able to help you if you could wait and
prepare to check in after two in the afternoon, we’ll have some rooms at that time.
W: That’d be very kind of you. Could you give me a call when you have a room available? I’ll just
wander around and have some coffee.
M: Certainly. Would you please give me your phone number?
W: Sure. Here’s my card. Thanks.

Hi, everyone, welcome to Soul Echoes. Today, I want to introduce a classic song to you —
Lose Yourself. The song was composed and produced by Eminem, Jeff Bass and Luis Resto. The
lyrics were written by Eminem. The music video for the song was directed by Eminem, Paul
Rosenberg and Phillip G. Atwell. Lose Yourself received good reviews right after its release.
Many people praised the song’s aggressive themes and regarded it as Eminem’s best work to date.
It won the Academy Award for Best Original Song, making it the first rap song to receive the
award, and also won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Solo Performance. In
2004, it became one of the only three rap songs from the 21st century included on Rolling Stone’s
list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. Eminem performed the song as a surprise at the 92nd
Academy Awards on February 9th, 2020.
