If you take the bus to the party, you'll be late.
You'll be late ,if you take the bus to the party.
If I get up late
tomorrow, I'll be late
for school.
时态
原则
如果主句是含有 must, can, may, might, should, If you have the flu,
you should see a
doctor.
Let me know if you
need my help.
It will rain tomorrow. I will stay at home. → If it
rains tomorrow, I will stay at home.
即 if not=unless. 如 If you
don't get up early, you will be late for school. = You will be late for school unless you get up early.
句型
If you study hard, you'll pass the exam easily.= Study
hard and you'll pass the exam easily. = Study hard ,or you won't pass the exam easily.
If you help me, I'll finish the work soon.
= With your help, I'll finish the work soon. If you don't help me, I won't finish the work.= Without
your help, I won't finish the work.

will。
I’ll help you with your English if I am free tomorrow.
If you have any questions to ask, please come to my office.
I think I'll
take the bus to the party. If you do, you'll be late.
I want to know if
he will finish the work on time.

Some people think only school children do not agree with their parents, however, it is not true.
Communication is a problem for parents and children of all ages. If it’s hard for you to communicate with
your parents, don’t worry about it. Here is some advice for you to bridge the generation gap
4 / 7
学科网(北京)股份有限公司Don’t argue (争辩) with your parents. Don’t go to your parents when you are angry. Your parents probably
won’t consider your ideas if you are shouting at them. And you can’t express yourself well if you are angry. Go
someplace to cool off. Make sure you understand why you are unhappy. Then think about what you want to say to
your parents. If you don’t think you can speak to them at the moment, try writing a letter.
Try to reach a compromise (和解). Perhaps you and your parents disagree on something. You can keep your
disagreement and try your best to accept each other. Michael’s mother didn’t agree with him about buying a
motorcycle. They argued over it. But they finally came to a compromise. Michael bought the motorcycle, but only
drove it on certain days.
Of course, your parents might refuse to compromise on something. In these situations, it is especially
important to show love and respect (尊敬) to them. Showing respect will keep your relationship strong.
Talk about your values. The values of your parents are probably different from those of your own. Tell your
parents what you care about, and why. Understanding your values might help them see your purposes in life.
A good relationship with your parents can make you a better and happier person. It is worth having a try!
16.The passage tells us ________ have a communication problem.
A.parents and other people B.school kids and their parents

A.to make yourself happy B.to get you quiet and relaxed
C.to have a good rest D.to hide yourself quickly
19.If there’s really a generation gap between you and your parents, you’d better ________.

It’s common for parents to compare their children with other kids. While they might mean well, it can make
you feel sad or even angry. So, how should you deal with this situation?
Understand their purposes.
Most parents compare because they want you to improve. They believe that others’ success will encourage
you. So, try to understand their purposes. Ask yourself: are they really criticizing (批评) me, or just hoping I’ll do
better?
6 / 7
Communicate calmly.
If comparisons get you down, talk to your parents in a respectful way. For example, you can say, “I know
you want me to succeed, but when you compare me with others, I feel like I’m not good enough.” This helps them
understand your feelings without starting an argument.
Turn comparisons into motivation (激励).
If your parents praise (称赞) some people, ask yourself what you can learn from them. Maybe they study
efficiently, practise more, or use time more wisely. Get into their good habits, and you will do better next time.
Build self-confidence.
Write down your strengths—maybe you’re creative, kind, or brave. When your parents compare, think of
what makes you special. With the confidence, you will not care too much about unhelpful comparisons.
Parents’ comparisons can be hard, but you can deal with them wisely. Remember, you are not defined (定义)
by others’ success-your progress is what truly matters.
1.Why do most parents compare their children with others?
2.What should you do if comparisons get you down?
3.Why does the writer advise learning from the people your parents praise?
4.How can you build your self-confidence when facing comparisons?
