W: What's the score now?
M: It's 3-2 at the moment in England's favor. But Spain seems to be taking the upper
hand on the field.

2. C
M: Do you often ask your kid to help in the kitchen?
W: Yeah, Sarah enjoys pouring, mixing, and serving her creations to family members.
M: Good! According to an article I've just read, that encourages healthy eating in
kids.

3. C
M: I really like living here in this flat, because it's so near the center of town.
W: That's true. But it gets really noisy at night.

4. A
M: Jenny, do we have to finish the report today?
W: Yes. The manager wants to see it before the meeting.

5. B
M: I heard on the radio that it'll be sunny during the holiday weekend. Maybe we
can take a trip to Boston.
W: That sounds great. I'll call Jane to see if she likes to join us.

6. A
A: Charlie, do you know a restaurant called "Bravo"?
B: "Bravo"? I know the name, but I'm not sure where it is.
A: It's on Groege Street. The food there is excellent.

7. C
M: Let's see what drinks you've got for the party tonight.
W: Everything! Beer, wine, soft drinks like Coke, 7-Up… you name it, I've got it! Have
you ordered the cake?
M: Of course.

Section2:
1. BAC
M: Shall we sit here?
W: Sure!
M: Why didn't you have anything on your plate?
W: Well, I am not even a bit hungry.
M: Is there anything wrong? Do you feel well?
W: I've been really worried. It's my computer. It's in the shop again.
M: Really? What's wrong this time?
W: I don't know, exactly. There seems to be something wrong with the system. It
restarts several times within an hour, and I can't save what I have typed.
M: That's too bad.
W: Yeah. I need to hand in a sales report next Monday, and it's already Wednesday
today. Besides, I was only halfway through my report, and everything is in the
computer.
M: I see. Perhaps you should ask them to get it fixed in just one or two days. Then at
least you still have the weekend to work on the report.
W: Yes, I guess you’re right. Thanks.

2. ACA
W: Good morning, Cambridge Theatre, can I help you?
M: Good morning, have you got any tickets for the pop concert on Saturday night?
W: Certainly, sir. You want to have some tickets for the pop concert?
M: Yes, that’s right.
W: And that’s on the 14th September?
M: I’m not sure. Is Saturday the 14th?
W: Yes, it is.
M: What time does the concert start?
W: At 8 o’clock pm. How many tickets would you like?
M: My wife and I, and my son. Three tickets, please.
W: What’s your name?
M: Peter Brown.
W: Could I have your phone number please?
M: Of course, you can reach me in London. The number is 786-7254. How much
would that cost?
W: 64 dollars altogether, sir. We’ll hold the tickets at the door until 7:30.
M: Thank you very much. Goodbye.
W: Goodbye.

3. ACAB
W: Did you go out today?
M: With my bad back. What good could I’ve done if I’d gone out?
W: If you look for a job, you might have found one.
M: But I’ve been looking for over a year. It would’ve been any different today.
W: I know how bad you feel. But if you don’t keep on looking, you’ll never get a
job.
M: If I had stayed at home in the first place, I wouldn’t have had so much trouble.
W: What would you have got? There are more people out of work there than here.
M: I could’ve had a farm of my own if I stayed there.
W: You? UP in the mountains with nobody to talk to but the children?
M: I don’t like the city. There are too many people. There’s too much noise, too
much dust.
W: I like here.
M: Yes. But because your brother’s here. This is really your home.
W: While, maybe we should go to Portugal for a visit anyway. You could see your
aunt and uncle.
M: You really mean that? I’d like to see the island again and feel the sunshine. And
there everyone speaks Spanish.
