【词汇用法】
1.provide v.提供
provide sb.with sth.=provide sth. for sb.为某人提供某物 offer v. 提供 offer sb. sth. = offer
sth. to sb. 给某人提供某物 He offered me some help in study . 他提供给我一些学习上的帮
助。
Father provided food and clothes for his family = Father provided his family with food and
clothes.
父亲为家里人提供衣食
2.plenty of大量,充足
后接可数名词复数或不可数名词=lots of =a lot of There are plenty of seats . 有很多座位。
There is plenty of rain in summer . 夏季雨量充足。
3.shut off 关闭；停止运转
相当于 close shut off 关闭 (使机器或工具停止运转，切断煤气或水的供应)
shut off为“动词+副词”型短语，常用于关闭机器、工具或切断供气、供水等。shut 作动词
意为“关闭，关上，合上”，一般指关闭门、窗等，与close意思相近。
Remember to shut off the lights when you leave the classroom.
The computer has worked for hours. Please shut it off.
【重点句型】

stick 意为v. 粘贴；将……刺入
stick作动词，其过去式和过去分词均为stuck。
stick还可作可数名词，意为“枝条；棍”。
He stuck a stamp on the envelope.
他把一张邮票贴到信封上。
We collected dry sticks to start a fire.
我们捡了些枯枝生起火来。
stick to : 坚持；固守 to为介词
stick to后常接表示原则、计划、意见、诺言等名词，
stick to doing sth. “坚持做某事”。
Reporters should stick to investigating the facts.
记者应该坚持调查实情。
to 为介词的类似短语还有：
pay attention to 注意，
lead to 导致look forward to 期盼，盼望
be/ get used to 习惯于
prefer…to… 喜欢……胜过……

enjoy doing sth. 意为喜欢做某事；享受做某事的乐趣.
本句中who always saves the world just in time. 是定语从句，
修饰先行词superhero. who是关系代词，在从句中做主语，
此时可用that 替代。
She likes actors who act well.她喜欢演戏演得好的演员。
3.When I’m down or tired, I prefer movies that can cheer me up.
down: 系动词+ down “不高兴，心情不畅，伤心”

Kyle Coleman is 31 years old. At a young age, Kyle developed autism (自闭症) . He used
to go to the hospital but it didn’t really work. The autism was so serious that he could only
