【词汇用法】
1. be supposed to do 应该（注意它的翻译，另外supposed后面用的是不定式to do）
We are supposed to stop smoking. 我们应该停止吸烟。
2.be relaxed about sth. 对某事随意、不严格
They are relaxed about the time. 他们对时间很随意。
3.pretty adv. 相当，很
She is pretty friendly. 她相当友好。
adj. 美丽的 She is a pretty girl.她是一个美丽的女孩。
4. plan to do. 打算做某事（常见用法）
She has planed to go to Beijing.
5. drop by 访问，看望，拜访，串门
We just dropped by our friends' homes.我们刚刚去朋友家串门。
6. on time 按时（in time的意思是及时，这两个短语经常出现在辨析题中）
7. after all毕竟终究（五星级重点词汇，记住它的意思）
You see I was right after all.你看，毕竟还是我对了。
8. invite sb. to do sth. 邀请某人做某事（重要内容，注意后面用的是不定式 to do）
Lily invited me to have dinner.莉莉请我吃晚饭。
9. without 没有（这个词经常考，题目会单纯考它的意思，所以大家应该记住
【重点句型】
1.He slept badly and didn’t feel like eating anything. 他睡眠不好, 而且不想吃东西。
feel like doing sth.=want to do sth.=would like to do sth. 意为“想要做……”, 此处like为
介词, 意为“相似；类似；像”。
例：I feel like going out for a walk .= I want to go out for a walk.=I would like to go out for awalk.
Jack feels like starting at once. 杰克想立刻动身.
feel like 的其他用法
(1) 表示“摸起来像……”
例：It feels like silk. 这东西摸起来像丝绸。
(2) 表示“感觉像(是)……”
例：My legs feel like cotton wool. 我感觉两条腿软得像棉花一样。
(3) 表示“有……的感觉”
例：I’m surprised that he feels like that. 我奇怪他会有这种感觉。
(4) 表示“给人的感觉（像）是……”
例：I was only there for two days, but it felt like a week.
我只在那里待了两天, 但好像过了一个星期似的。
(5) 表示“想吃或喝……”
例：Do you feel like a drink? 你想喝点什么吗?
2. His face was always pale as chalk. 他总是面色苍白。
(as) pale as chalk 是一种明喻修辞结构, 面色苍白。此处省略了第一个as。 chalk是一种白
色的石灰岩, 汉语描述不健康的人面部颜色时常用“白”字, 如“煞白；苍白；灰白”等等
英语常用pale来表达。
例： You look as pale as chalk today. What’s wrong with you?
今天你看着面色苍白。哪里不舒服吗？
【特别提醒】英语中表示脸色苍白不能用white，而要用pale。

3.One day, a doctor was called in to examine the king. 一天, 一位医生被叫去为国王检查身
体。
(1) call sb. in 意为“召来；叫来”。例：I called the police in. 我叫来了警察。
(2) call sth. in 意为“下令收回；要求退回。
例：Cars with serious faults have been called in by manufacturers.
有严重缺陷的汽车已经被生产商收回。
4.Neither medicine nor rest can help him. 无论是药物还是休息都帮不了他。
neither...nor...表示“既不……也不……；……和……都不”, 其含义是否定的, 可连接任意
两个并列的成份, 谓语动词的单复数采取“就近原则”。
例：I have neither money nor time. 我既没有钱也没有时间。
Neither Tom nor his sisters were at home.汤姆和珍都不在家。
Neither you nor your sister was at home at that time.
Neither they nor Kate has been to Beijing.
拓展(1) either… or….意为“或者……或者……;不是……就是……”, 表示两者之一, 连
接句子中两个并列的成分, 谓语动词的单复数采取“就近原则”。
例：Either you or I am going there tomorrow. 明天要么你去那里, 要么我去那里。(2) both … and…表示“既……又……”, 连接任意两个并列成份, 做主语时谓语动词用
复数。
例：Both you and I are going there tomorrow. 明天俩都要去那里。
【辨析】both, either & neither
(1). neither表示“两者都不”， 作主语时，谓语动词常用单数形式。
e.g. 他的父母都不是医生。Neither of his parents is a doctor.
(2). both表示“两者都”，作主语时，谓语动词用复数形式。
e.g. 他的父母都是医生。Both of his parents are doctors.
(3). either表示“两者中的任何一个”，作主语时，谓语动词常用单数形式。
e.g. 他的父母中有一个是医生。Either of his parents is a doctor.

Daniel Mancina was born in 1987. He broke the record for the 3 1 (long) 50-50
