3.get their ears pierced
这是“get+名词(或代词)+过去分词”的句型,意思是“使......被做,请人做......”,表示
让别人做某事。此时get 是使役动词。e.g. I can’t get the work done by anybody.我找不到人来干这项工作。
When are you going to get your hair cut?你打算什么时候去剪头发?
“get+名词(或代词)+过去分词”的句型,还可以表示“遭遇某事”
He got his wrist broken.他折断了手腕。
我让人修理了我的汽车。I got my car repaired.
詹姆斯昨晚被打了。James got beaten last night.
eg: I had my hair cut yesterday. 昨天我把头发剪了。
My father will get my old bike sold.我爸爸将把我的旧自行车卖了。
【重点句型】
1. Sixteen-year-olds should be allowed to get their ears pierced. 应该允许16岁的青少年穿耳
洞。
(1) should 为情态动词,表示劝告、建议,意为 “应该;应当”。 allowed为allow的过去
分词。
结构:情态动词+be+及物动词的过去分词
例: 这些花应该每天浇水。 These flowers should be watered every day.
(2) be allowed to do sth. 被允许做某事
例:小孩子不允许玩火。 Little kids aren’t allowed to play with fire.

sixteen-year-olds 名词,意为“16岁的青少年”,相当于sixteen-year-old boys and girls。
辨析:sixteen-year-olds,sixteen-year-old与sixteen years old
(1)sixteen-year-olds“16岁的青少年”,是名词,在“基数词-名词(单数)-形容词”结构中,
形容词后加-s表示一类人或事物。
eg:Sixteen-year-olds should be allowed to go out at night. 应该允许16岁的青少年 夜间
外出。
(2)sixteen-year-old“16岁的”,是由“基数词-名词(单数)-形容词”
构成的复合形容词,在句中通常做前置定语,修饰名词。
eg:My pen pal is a sixteen-year-old boy.我的笔友是一个16岁的男孩。
(3)sixteen years old“16岁”,用来描述人的年龄,常在句中作表语。
eg:My brother is sixteen years old. 我哥哥十六岁了。
allow (to let sb. do sth.)及物动词,意为“允许;准许”,
常用于下列结构中:
① allow sb. to do sth. 允许某人做某事eg: The teacher allowed him to get into the classroom. 老师允许他进教室。
② allow doing sth.允许做某事
eg: We don’t allow sleeping in class.我们不允许在课堂上睡觉。
③ be (not) allowed to do sth. (不) 被允许做某事
eg:Passengers are not allowed to smoke in the train.火车上面不允许乘客吸烟。
3. He should stop wearing that silly earring.他应该停止戴那个可笑的耳环。
(1)stop doing sth. 意为“停止做某事”。
例:Let’s stop talking!让我们停止说话吧!
stop doing sth. 与 stop to do sth.
stop doing sth. 意为“停止做某事”, 指将正在干的事停下来。stop to do sth. 指停止手头
所做的事情去做另外一件事情。
例:别说话了!老师来了。 Stop talking! The teacher is coming.
stop to do sth. 意为“停下来去做某事”,指停下手头的事,去做另一件事。
例:我太累了,我们停下来休息一会儿吧。
I’m too tired. Let’s stop to have a rest.
eg:The two girls stopped talking when they saw the bus coming.
那两个女孩看到公交车来时停止了讲话。
I stopped to talk to him when I saw him at school.
我在学校看到他时停下来去和他讲话。

英语中有少数表示“猜想、臆断”的实义动词, 如think, believe, suppose, imagine等后面
跟含否定意义的宾语从句时, 习惯上把从句的否定转移到主句, 构成“I don't think …” 结
构。这 种语言现象称为否定转移。

2)我认为他是不对的。 I don’t think he is right.

Alan Robinson and Walter Macfarlane live in Oahu, Hawaii. They first met when they
were in the sixth grade. Soon they became best friends. They stayed best friends for more than
60 years. Then, late last year, they found out they are something more.
Robinson and Macfarlane were born 15 months apart. Robinson was adopted (收养).
Macfarlane never knew his father.
The two played on the high school football team together. They liked the same things,
