I don’t really agree with the opinion that children should take after-school classes, because children have to workhard at school and actually they have taken enough stress. Although some parents are right about the ideas to make
their children successful, I think children should be respected and they have their own interests and hobbies.
In my opinion, it is important for parents to talk with their children about whether they are willing to take
after-school classes. I believe it is better if parents show their respect to their kids so that there will be a good result.
Perhaps communication between parents and children is useful both for parents and children.

Dear Sir or Madam,
I don’t really agree with some parents. Because children should have more time to do what they
like. They don’t have to study all the time.
Some parents think after-school classes can help kids get into a good university. So they take their
children to all kinds of after-school classes on weekends. But I don’t think so. In my opinion, it’s
important for kids to relax themselves on weekends. On weekdays, they are busy studying all the time.
It’s true that every parent wants their children to be successful. They think getting good grades is the
only way to be successful. They also think it’s good for children to start learning from a young age. At
the same time, children need to have a good rest on weekends. The better they have a rest, the better
they will study on school days.
In a word, I believe it’s better for their future if they have more happiness. Remember, happiness and healthy
are more important than grades!

A lot of parents would like to make all decisions for their children. They always think their children are too
young to look after themselves well. In fact, everyone needs to live by themselves one day. So I think parents should
give their children more space. Of course, that doesn’t mean parents are not important in their children’s lives. Here
is some advice to help parents get on with their children.
Firstly, talk with them more often about their school life. Parents can ask their children questions like “How do
you feel today?” or “Do you have anything interesting to tell me?” In this way, parents can know more about their
children.
Secondly, parents can invite their children to do the housework together. After the children finish their homework,
parents can invite them to do some simple housework together, because it can not only help the children relax, but
also improve the relations between parents and children.
Thirdly, when children are in bad moods (心情), parents shouldn’t ask too much. Instead, parents should care
for their children in other ways. Then, children are willing to talk about their problems.
In a word, if parents respect their children’s ideas, the children will do the same, too.
