教学目标
知识目标: 掌握课文生词forever (adv), abroad (adv), fan (n), modern (adj), southern (adj) →
south (n), laughter (n) → laugh (v), beauty (n) → beautiful (adj), success (n) →successful (adj) 和
短语study abroad, belong to, fight over with的用法。
能力目标: 培养学生阅读过程中,圈划关键词和利用关键词归纳段落大意的能力。
情感目标: 让学生学会从生活中认识音乐或者某件物品带来的变化并享受生活。
2学情分析
八年级下学期班级总体英语语言知识水平良好,大部分学生能够用基础的句型进行口头和书
面表达,但有一定的分层现象。在阅读技能和策略上,绝大部分学生能够在教师的指导下利用
策略完成阅读和学习任务,但缺乏自主探索和使用的习惯。由于初二学生生理和心理的发展,
上课积极举手发言的同学相对初一和初二上更少。大部分学生喜爱音乐,但对音乐类型和内
涵了解不多。
3重点难点
重点:在阅读过程中,圈划关键词和利用关键词归纳段落大意。
难点:找准概括大意需要的关键词,并用自己的话归纳大意。
4教学过程
4.1 第一学时
4.1.1教学活动
活动1【导入】Greeting and warming up
Get students watch a video and sing the song You Are My Sunshine. As the
teacher and students sing the song, add some movement.
活动2【导入】Lead in
Get students look at the lyrics of the song and ask them what story the song
shows us.
Help students to make a summary (tell the story) by showing the key words: the
other day, dreamed, held, mistaken, cried, sunshine, love, take away.
Tell them that if we want to know a passage better, we can make a summary by
circling and using the key words.活动3【活动】Pre-reading
Get students to talk about what kinds of music they like and the reasons.
Get students to look at the title of the passage "A country music changed her life
forever" and predic what the passage will tell us.
活动4【活动】While-reading
♦ Get students look through the passage to check if their predictions are correct. I
f it is the case, ask them to answer which paragraph is about country music and w
hich paragraph is about Sarah's life.
♦ Get students to read paragraph one carefully and fill in the blanks.

She is from ________.
She used to _______.
She heard ________ on radio while studying abroad.
She fell in love with _______.
Get students to look at the sentences to make the summary of paragraph 1.
Get students to look at just the key words and make a summary of paragraph 1.
♦ Get students to find the information of American country music and finish the C
ountry Music Sheet.

Leave the key words on the screen and get students to make a summary of paragr
aph 2.
♦ Get students read paragraph 3 carefully and answer three questions:
1.What is Sarah's dream?
2.Did she know much about the place?
3.What does she hope to do?
Get students to circle the words they think are important for making the summary
and make a summary on their own.
Ask some to tell the summary to class.
♦ Get students circle the key words of the whole passage in the textbook and writ
e down their summary on the paper.
Get students to tell their partners the summary.Invite some of them to come to the front and read the summary to class.
活动5【活动】After-reading
Get students work in groups and discuss why there is a "forever" in the title.
Ask some students to show their opinions.
活动6【作业】Homework
Get students to polish their summary and send the summary to Cindy's email.
Get students think of one thing that has changed them or taught them anything
and take some notes.
