教学目标
Teaching aims
1) Through reading, the students get to know something about pandas. They get one more
reading skill from this lesson, that is scanning to get specific information.
2) Practice their writing.
3) From this lesson, I’d like to lead my students to love wild animals more and try our best to
help save them.
2学情分析
The students have known some information about pandas. They are interested in the lesson.
They learn the new words before class by themselves. The article is a little longer to them, they
need help to understand and repeat in class, and they have to prepare some useful sentences to
express their opinions while writing.
3重点难点
Important points and difficulties:
Lead the students to learn a new kind of reading skill----scanning. It is a long passage to read, the
students may have difficulty in writing.

Teaching process
Step 1 Word review
Lead the students to have a revision of the words related to this lesson. Let the
students check in pairs.
Step 2 Leading-in
Say out a riddle of the pandas, let the students guess what animal it is. It aims at
arousing the interests of the students.Step 3 Talking about pandas
Let the students talk about pandas using the given words. Give them a little time
to prepare, and then ask them to say out sentences about pandas. One sentence,
one point.
Step 4 Reading and answering
Show the students four numbers from the text, let them scan the text and find
what these numbers mean. Translate the sentences into Chinese as they say out
the answers.
Let the students read the questions before reading again. They should scan the
text with the questions in their mind. Among these questions, No 3 is the most
difficult. Give them more time and help them to find the answers. Check the
answers and give relating points to the students who give out the right answers.
Lead the students to have a revision of the text. Give them some time to read
aloud, and get ready to fill in the blanks.
Lead the students to sum up the lines of the text so that they make clear about
what they learn in this text.
Step 5 Writing
Give the students two topics to choose. The students who are good at English can
choose No 2 which is a little difficult to write while the students who are weak in
English may choose No.1 which is easier to write.
Show them some good examples in order that they are able to make their own
writing better after class.
