教学目标
The students will be able to:
1. Express the abilities using “can”
2. Understand the descriptions and ads about abilities in 2a and 2b after
skimming,scanning, answering the questions and matching with each other.
3. Use the useful expressions to make up conversations to express their abilities to help finish the
jobs according to the ad in 2b.
2学情分析
本课是七年级下册Unit 1 Section B的阅读课,属于本单元的第四个课时。学生在
学习Section A的过程中已经掌握了can表能力的基本用法,已经会用can表达自己或他人在
音乐、体育、艺术以及其他方面的能力,对本课的阅读有一定的基础;本班学生对英语学习有
着浓厚的兴趣,学习态度端正,学习积极性很高,但是在阅读方面还缺乏阅读方法和技巧,本课
教师将引导学生通过不同的阅读任务理解文本内容,学会表达能力,并学会总结大意和总结标
题等阅读技能。
3重点难点
1. To understand the descriptions and the ads.
2. To express the abilities using “can”.
3. To use the useful expressions to make up conversations between the persons in 2a and 2b to
help finish the jobs .

活动1【导入】Warming-up and Revision
1. Greet with the students .
2. Show a picture of the teacher’s son, and tell the students what he likes ( He like
s music. He likes sports. He likes books. ). And
let the students guess what he can do and use the structure “Can he ...?”
活动2【讲授】Presentation1. According to the students’guesses above and present the word“also”, eg: He
can sing . He can dance. He can also tell stories.
2. Ask the students : “What can you do “to use “also”.
活动3【活动】2a
1. Make a prediction. Look at the pictures of the three students and predict what
they can do.
2. Read 2a quicly and answer the questions :What can Peter do? What can
MaHuan do? What about Alan?
3. Read 2a again and answer the questions:
1) What does Peter like to do?
2) What does Alan like to do?
3) Who is in the school music club?

1.Read the first ad in 2b on the PPT. Ask the students: What’s this? Then talk abo
ut the ad: What’s the ad for? What do they
need?
2. Give an title for the ad and teach the students how to give a title.
3. Read the rest adsquickly
and choose right titles for the ads. Please underline the main words and phrases.
4. Check the answers with the students and ask the students say out why they cho
ose the answer.
5. Tell the students: When you read,don’t read word by word, just catch the main

1. Read 2a and 2b again carefully and match the persons in 2a with the ads in 2b.
2. Check the answers with students and ask them “ How do you know that?”
活动6【活动】Useful expressions in 2b
1. Read 2b carefully again and answer the questions:
1) Who is good with people?
2) Who can make friends with old people?
3) Where can Peter go to help with sports?
4) When will Alan help to teach music?
5) Who will Alan call to offer(提供)his help?
6) What is Mrs. Miller’s phone number?
2. Ask some students to give the answers and explain the useful expressions.
活动7【练习】Post-reading
1. Now Alan is calling Mrs Miller, fill in the blanks and finish the conversation on
the PPT according to 2b.
2. Read the conversation in pairs.
3. Peter and Ma Hua want to help others, too. Make up conversations like this.
4. Act the conversations out.
活动8【作业】HomeworkWhich job can you do? Write a letter to the managers to tell them what you like ,
what you can do and why you can do this job.
