七年级学生在上册书中已经掌握了一些介词的使用方法,如 in,on等,但是对于本课新学的方
位介词较为陌生。

4教学过程
4.1 第一学时
4.1.1教学目标
1会读本课出现的关于地点的单词(post office, police station, hotel,
restaurant, bank, hospital, street, pay phone)会用方位介词表达位置
(between …and, in front of, behind, near, next to, across from)
2.学会用在具体的情景中使用there be 句型进行问路并对其进行简要
的回答;
4.1.2学时重点
1掌握以下重点句型
A: Excuse me. Is there a ……near here? B: Yes, there is. \ No, there isn’t.
A: Where is……? B: It’s between …and\ in front of\ behind\ near\ next
to\ across from …….
2.要求掌握以下词汇关于地点的单词(post office, police station, hotel, restaurant, bank,
hospital, street, pay phone)方位介词(between …and, in front of, behind,
near, next to, across from)

活动1【导入】present the aims

活动2【讲授】present the key vocabulary
1.Show a picture with a post office to the class
T: What's this in English?
S: It's a post office.
(show the students other places in PPT. Teach the new words in the same way)
2 Read new words together.
3 Work on 1a
活动3【活动】guessing game
The teacher present the pictures on the blackboard. Ask the students to guess
what kind of places in the neighborhood.
活动4【讲授】preposition
1Present the prepositions and ask the students to read and get the meaning2 Show a pen and a box and ask the students to describe using the prepositions
活动5【活动】practice
Show some pictures about the pay phone and the library.
T: Where is the pay phone?
S: The pay phone is on Green Street. ( work in the same way to practice the
prepositions with the new words)
活动6【活动】listening
1 Listen and fill in the blanks and check the answers with some students
2 Listen again and ask the students to check the answers and also find how to ask
the way and the simple answers.
( Ask the students to answer the questions and the teacher writes the sentence
structure on the blackboard)

1 Work in pairs to practice the sentence structure.
A: Excuse me, is there a hospital near here?
B: Yes, there is.
A: Where is it?
B: It’s next to the police station.2 Ask some pairs to present in front of the class.

1The teacher shows a picture.
T:There is your neighborhood. Imagine a visitor wants to visit your neighborhood.
Can you write some sentences to introduce your neighborhood? Work in groups
and write the sentences.
