教学目标
九年级英语UNIT 2主要学习的是中国的一些传统节日,比如春节、端午节、中秋节等。然而圣
诞节在西方的一些国家,特别是美国、加拿大等国家相当于我们的春节。其隆重和意义不言而
喻。而且中西文化习俗差异非常大。同时民俗风情也是中考的一个考点。所以我觉得学生很
有必要去了解它。因此我在UNIT 2结束时设计了这样一节课。希望学生能够很好的了解圣诞
节。以此为契机更多的了解中西文化习俗方面的差异。
2学情分析
我们的学生对“April Fool’s Day” “Father’s Day” “Mother’s Day” “Thanks Giving Day”甚至
“Valentine’s Day”等“洋节日”都已经很熟悉了甚至在生活中很崇尚这些节日。但大部分学
生对这些节日的由来、节日风俗、文化背景知之甚少,。学生是渴望了解这些的。所以,通过课
堂及课外知识向学生渗透中西方文化的差异,是相当必要的。

1、通过观看flash,学会有关圣诞节的新单词以及短语。
2、通过动手实践,让学生知道how to make a Chriatmas card 。
3、学唱一首简单的圣诞歌曲充分体验圣诞节的欢快气氛。同时通过师生间的、生生间的交流
增深感情。
4、通过阅读环节的训练,了解到一定的西方文化。
4教学过程
4.1 flash动画导入新课
4.1.1教学流程
Step 1 Preparation
【为了营造更好的圣诞气氛,课前教师利用多媒体播放圣诞节动画
flash,充分创设圣诞气氛。】
Step 2 Lead-in
T: Good morning everyone .I will write an English word “festival”on the
blackboard. Do you know the word?
Ss:Yes.
T:Can you tell me the Chinese meaning of it?
Ss:节日。Ss:There are many festivals in China or in other countries.For
example,Women’s Day、Children’s Day、National Day and so on.Today
we will learn a new festival.When we talk about the festival, we often
think of the old man、the weather、the tree。( The teacher points at the
pictures on PPT)

的兴趣。】
Can you guess what festival it is? You can answer it in Chinese.
T:Christmas Day(圣诞节)。
T:Very good.then show the whole picture to the students.Can you tell
me what you can see and what you think of ?
Ss:I can see 圣诞老人。
Ss:I can see 圣诞树。
Ss:I can see 圣诞礼物。
Ss:I can see 麋鹿。
Ss:I can think of 圣诞节。
Ss:…。
(Students haven’t learned these things, so they are allowed to answer
the questions in Chinese.)
T:OK,very good.But do you know how to say these things in
English?
Ss:Sorry,We don’t know.
T:Now let’s learn these important words and phrases.
Step 3 learn some important words and phrases.
1.Father Christmas. (Santa Claus)
2. Christmas Day
3. Christmas present4. Christmas tree
5. Christmas card
6. Christmas ball
7. Merry Christmas!

Step 4 watch a carton about Christmas Day.
After learning ,I will introduce a new friend to you.you
can only see him on Christmas Day. Do you know him?
Ss: He is Father Christmas.
T: Yes,you are right.(The teacher shows a toy Father Christmas to
students.)
But what will Father Christmas do on Christmas Day? Do youwant to
know?
Ss;Yeah.
T; Ok。Let’s watch a cartoon together.

Step 5 Read the passage,the discuss the questions.
T: If It were Christmas Day today and I were a Father Christmas ,I had a
lot of Christmas presents in my big bag.Do you want them?(老师装扮成
圣诞老人)
Ss: Yes!
T: It’s hard to get them. unless you can answer the questions, Please
read the passage then answer my questions.
Christmas DayChristmas Day comes on December 25 . It is the most important
and popular festival in western countries. The people have lots of
parties and Children don’t need to go to school on that day. Father
Christmas brings gifts to all the children. People think he comes down
from the chimney(烟囱) and puts the gifts in the stockings (长筒袜)at
night. Christmas is coming. The people will have a good time there.On
that day the family get together for a big family dinner. Most families
buy a Christmas tree and decorate it with small things. They say“Merry
Christmas ”or send Christmas card to each other.
here are the questions:
① When is Christmas Day?
② Who send gifts to children ?
③ What do people do on Christmas Day?
④ What do people say when they meet on that day?

Step 6 Writing practice.
Ask students to make a Christmas card for their friends、parents
or teachers.And write something on it.( Play the song of Merry Christmas
at the same time.(学生拿出自己课前准备的各种彩笔和卡片为亲朋好
友或老师制作圣诞贺卡。)

【在这一环节中,学生的兴趣最高涨,亲自动手制作圣诞贺卡,写上感恩
或祝福的话,让他们有成就感和新鲜感,对圣诞节有了进一步的感知,
同时也训练了学生的写作能力。】

Step8 Homework
Talk about Chinese Spring Festival.
They can talk about ( eat dumpings /visit relatives and friends send gifts
/wear new clothes / watch CCTV’s programme…)
