六、Teaching Procedures
Step 1: Warming-up (5 minutes)
1. Show some pictures of different animals on the screen and ask students to name
them in English.
2. Play a short video about a zoo to arouse students' interest and lead in the topic.
Step 2: Group Discussion (8 minutes)
1. Divide students into groups of four.
2. Give each group the task of taking turns to think of an animal and describe it. The
others in the group try to guess the animal and write it down in the table.
3. Walk around the classroom and offer help and guidance when necessary.
Step 3: Zoo Design (10 minutes)
1. Each group selects some of the animals from the previous discussion for their
zoo.
2. Ask students to give reasons for their choices and discuss how to arrange the
animals in the zoo.
Step 4: Map Drawing (10 minutes)
1. Students draw a map of their zoo on a piece of paper.
2. Encourage them to be creative and add some details such as paths, signs, and
food stalls.
Step 5: Presentation (10 minutes)
1. Each group takes turns to present their designed zoo to the class.
2. They should use the expressions provided and try to explain their design clearly.
3. Other groups can ask questions or give comments.
Step 6: Summary and Homework (2 minutes)
1. Summarize the key points of this lesson and praise students' performance.
2. Assign homework: Ask students to write a short passage about their designed
zoo, including the animals, the layout, and the reasons.
