Summary
呈现出强并列关系,多用祈使句;
有词汇复现和紧扣主题的特点;

Most teens get between two and four colds a year. __1__ In fact, colds are the most common
infectious disease in the United States, and cause more school absences than any other illness.
What Causes Colds?
Most colds are caused by viruses (called rhinoviruses) that are in invisible droplets in the air you
breathe or on things you touch. If one of these viruses gets through the protective lining of the nose and
throat, it triggers an immune system reaction. __2__
Catching Colds
Rhinoviruses can stay alive as droplets in the air or on surfaces for as long as 3 hours or even more. So
if you touch your mouth or nose after touching someone or something that's been contaminated by one
of these viruses, you'll probably catch a cold.
__3__
Cold symptoms usually start 2 or 3 days after a person has been exposed to a source of infection.
People with colds are most contagious for the first 3 or 4 days after the symptoms begin and can be
contagious for up to 3 weeks. __4__
How Can I Feel Better?
Drink plenty of fluids like water or juice to help replace the extra fluids you lose while your body is
producing a lot of mucus or fighting a fever. Whether you feel like sleeping around the clock or just
taking things a bit easier, pay attention to what your body is telling you when you have a cold. __5__
Besides, the steam from a hot shower can help you breathe more easily.

年份、数字等);
A. If your metabolic rate is higher,
B. If you just have a glass of warm water,
C. When your skin is properly containing combined water inside,
D. This means that the rate at which calories are burned increases by nearly one third.
E. So just drink down a glass of water and sit on your toilet for a clean colon.
F. Your doctor might have already told you that headaches happen due to lack of
water.
G. Besides, we all know that having a healthy appetite is good for overall health.

G. Besides, we all know that having a healthy appetite is good for overall health.

While many of us go through life with the pursuit of money on our minds, we're often told that
money can't buy happiness. But what truth is there in the saying? Is there a relation between money
and happiness? __1__
Humans are very sensitive to change. When we get a rise, we really enjoy it. But some studies
have shown that in North America, additional income beyond 75,000 dollars a year stops impacting
day-to-day happiness. __2__ They often end up spending all the money, going into debt, and
experience ruined social relationships.
So surely money can't really buy happiness. Well, recent studies suggest that the problem may
actually be in the way that we spend money.__3__ Studies show that people who spend their money
on others feel happier. As for the people who spend money on themselves, their happiness is
unchanged.
__4__ One experiment showed that instead of an organization writing a large check to a charity,
dividing the amount up among employees, allowing them to contribute to a charity of their choice,
increased their job satisfaction. Similarly, individuals that spend money on each other, as opposed to
themselves, not only increase job satisfaction, but improve the team performance.
__5__ Interestingly, the specific way money is spent on others isn't important. Spending
something on others is the important aspect of increasing your happiness.

or she is unwell. Now, let's take a look at your temperature. Ah, just as I thought, a hundred and one.
W: Oh, is it that high?
M: Ah, yes, that must sound strange to you. We often measure people's temperature on the
