教学重点:
1. 能够听懂并会说句型 What’s the weather like in New York/ …? It’s rainy/…

2. 能够听、说、认读单词rainy, degree, sunny, cloudy, windy。
教学难点:
1. 理解对话人物对于气温描述中的文化差异,理解、区分华氏、摄氏温度的概念。
2. 通过给朋友写明信片,内容涵盖六要素:greeting,places,feeling, weather,
activities, good to know。
教学过程
一、课前导学阶段。
Activity 1: Look and say
Hello, everyone, look at these 4 pictures. What’s the weather like?
Please look and say…
Let’s say together. It’s warm and cloudy. It’s hot and sunny.
It’s cool and windy. It’s cold and snowy.
(通过读图复习天气词汇,激活学生已有认知。)
Activity 2: Let’s review
Now let’s act like a weather reporter. Good morning. This is the
weather report. It's warm in Beijing today. It's 20 degrees.
Boys and girls, can you report like this? Please try!
(在天气播报的活动中,巩固复习核心句型和单词。)
二、课中探学阶段。
Activity 3: Look and say.
Well, this is the China map. Look at this map. It’s a world map.
What cities can you see in this map?
London, Moscow, Singapore, Sydney, New York, Toronto and Beijing.
(通过图片观察,激发学生已有认知,帮助学生语言输出。)
Activity4: Listen and circle.
Mark and Chen Jie are making a call. Where is Mark? Where is Chen
Jie? Listen and circle the cities they live in.
Which cities? New York and Beijing.
Activity5: Watch and find.
Well, we know Mark is in New York. Chen Jie is in Beijing.
What about other information? Weather, temperature and time. Let’s
watch the video and find.
Look, it’s rainy in New York. It’s warm in Beijing.
It’s 26 degrees in Beijing.
Look at the picture. It’s night in Beijing. What about New York?
Look, day and night are opposite in the eastern and western
hemispheres. 东西半球日夜是相反的。
So it’s daytime in New York. 你明白了吗
Activity 6: Think and tick.之江汇教育广场
Look,why does Mark say: 26 degrees, that’s cold? Please think
and tick the answer. 26 degrees Fahrenheit or 26 degrees Centigrade?
Pay attention to this picture.
Yes, 26 degrees Fahrenheit. It’s about minus 3 degrees Centigrade.
That’s cold.
(通过图示比较,帮助学生加深对文本的理解。美国采用华氏度为温度单
位,中国采用摄氏度为温度单位,所以Mark才误认为26度是很冷的。)
Activity 7:Let’s read along
Now Let’s read along with the dialogue, pay attention to the
pronunciation and intonation.
Activity 8: Listen and match.
Look John’s father is a basketball player.
He often goes around the world.
What's the weather like in these cities? Here’s the world weather.
Let’s listen and match.
It’s sunny in Sydney. It’s cloudy in Singapore. It’s windy in
Beijing. It’s rainy in London. It’s snowy in Moscow.
Activity 9: Make a call.
Where is dad now? John is making a call with his dad.
John: Hi, dad. This is John.
Dad: Hi, John. I’m in Singapore now.
John: What’s the weather like in Singapore?
Dad: It’s hot and cloudy. How about Beijing? Is it hot?
John: No, it isn’t. it’s warm.
Dad: Oh, I see. Bye-bye.
John: Goodbye!
If you were John, Could you make a call with dad? Have a try.
(通过角色扮演打电话,操练核心词语和句型,提高学生语言运用能力。)
Activity 10: Read and find.
Today John is very happy. He gets a postcard. Who writes the
postcard?
It’s from dad.
Where is John’s dad now? In Australia. How do you know?
Reason1 is from the text: Sydney.
Reason2 is from the stamp: a kangaroo.

Why does his father feel great? Please underline the answer.
What is the weather like in Sydney? It’s hot and sunny.
Is the water cold in Sydney? No, it isn’t. the water is warm.
Can John’s dad swim outside? Yes, he can.
What does Dad want to know from John? Is it cool and windy in
Beijing? Can you fly your kite? 为什么爸爸会这么问呢? 因为由于地球公

Activity 11: Think and say
Dad sends lots of postcards to John during his travelling. Why does
he send the postcards to John?
Share his trip to John.
Share his feelings to John.
Let John know his love.
There are six parts of information in his postcard. 因此在爸爸写的
明信片内容中,离不开下面这6要素:Greetings, places, feelings, weather,
activities, want to know.
(提炼明信片书写的六要素,培养学生对知识结构化梳理的思维。)
三、课后研学阶段。
Activity 12: Write a postcard for dad
Boys and girls, this time can you help John’s dad to write a
postcard. 请你帮助John的爸爸写一封明信片,书写时请关注这6要素内容。
Activity13:Write a postcard for your friend
Boys and girls, Have you finished? Now please write a postcard for
your friend.
Homework:
1. Must do: Read and act the dialogue. Write a postcard.
2.Choose to do: Share your postcard with your classmates.
