4. 能通过对话简单了解澳大利亚的首都堪培拉和著名城市悉尼；
教学内容
教学重点：
1. 核心句型Does he/she ...? Yes, he/she does. No, he/she doesn’t的理解和运用；
2. Let's try和let's talk版块对话内容的理解；
教学难点：
1. 培养学生通过了解对方的兴趣爱好、年龄等信息产生结交朋友的意愿。
教学过程
Step 1: Warming up
1. Talk about Zhang Peng’s pen pal Peter.
（Do you remember this boy? What’s his name? Where is he from? What are his hobbies? Yes,
his name is Peter. He is from New Zealand. He likes reading stories. He likes doing kung fu and
swimming. He also likes singing. He has many hobbies.）
Step 2: Presentation and practice
1. Let's try
① Listen and circle. Finish the exercise on the book.
School is over, Miss White is talking to Wu Binbin about the message. Let’s listen and circle.
② Check the answers.
2. Let's talk
①Make a guess.
What are Wu Binbin and John talking about?
② Make a prediction
If you were John, what would you like to know about his pen pal?

For the first listening, please focus on these two questions. Name and favourites.

Step 3: Consolidation and extensio n
1. Pair work: Talk about your friend
Today we’ve learned to talk about the pen pals. Now it’s time to talk about our friends. You can
talk about the name, the age, the hobbies and so on. When you are talking, you can use these useful
sentences. They will make your dialogue more vivid and more natural.
Step 4 : Homework
1. Listen and read the dialogue on Page 40 nicely.
2. Finish writing the message to John in Australia.
