Since July 2025, UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) are gradually replacing physical immigration documents with a digital immigration status, known as an eVisa. Most applicants who make a successful application for a UK visa will now only get an eVisa. This is a major update in recent years and changes a few things for people travelling to the UK. Join us in late April in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou to hear about recent policies and best practice from UKVI and VFS Global on UK visa application.

With 10 years visa and immigration experience, including operational and management roles, Ed has an in-depth knowledge of the UK immigration system and works to deliver a world-leading visa service with a firm emphasis on national security and a culture of customer satisfaction for people who come to the UK legally.

His responsibilities include working with different stakeholders encouraging people to visit, work and study in the UK, and also gathering market insight and helping audiences understand UKVI’s latest policies and requirements.

With over 10 years visa and immigration experience, Andy has an in-depth knowledge of the UK immigration system and works to deliver a world-leading visa service for a safe and prosperous UK with customer service at its heart. Before working for UKVI, Andy worked for a marketing consultancy.

Philip Xia joined VFS Global in 2015 and now is the city manager overseeing operations of 33 missions (including UK) in Guangzhou, China. The main responsibility is maintaining close cooperation with client governments and continuously improving service quality and operational efficiency.
