从原文中提取“谁(Who)、何时(When)、何地(Where)、做什么(What)、为什么(Why)和如何(How)”六

When Stephanie arrived, Dustin sat in his chair and crossed his arms. His father introduced himself to
Stephanie and apologized to her on Dustin’s behalf. Dustin kept his face blank. Then his father turned to Dustin.
“Dustin, don’t you have something to say?” Dustin said nothing but remained silent. His father, whose eyes
suddenly narrowed, said firmly, “Dustin. Now!” Walking to Stephanie, Dustin handed her a closed envelope, “I’m
sorry. I took your wallet. Here’s your money.” Stephanie looked at him with wide brown eyes and gently said, “I
forgive you.” Astonished, Dustin stared at her in disbelief.
At the end of this round, Michelle came and saw the students talking and laughing happily. He felt satisfied
with what they did. He said, “We can now understand that we are much more efficient when willing to share our
views with other students. We are better problem solvers by working together, not individually.” Meanwhile, the
students were touched and inspired, for they had been isolating themselves from other students. If it had not been
for this event, they wouldn’t have realized that they should cooperate and cultivate team spirit to achieve their
goals.
Mary stood back and surveyed the creation. The big paper was a joyful mess: Tina’s ice cream trees stood
beside Akila’s rainbow cat, Maya’s glitter clouds floated above Michael’s robot, and every color of the crayon box
shone bright. A group of students gathered around, pointing and cheering. “It’s better than any landscape we’ve
drawn!” Tina said. Mary nodded, her eyes soft. She realized art wasn’t about following rules—it was about letting
hearts and imaginations run free. From that day on, her classes became a place where every weird, wonderful idea
was celebrated.
Gradually, Emily’s confidence grew with Mr. Jenkins’ help. She started to enjoy the process of solving
math problems, finding satisfaction in each small success. The once confusing numbers and variables now seemed
like pieces of a beautiful puzzle. Mr. Jenkins continued to support her, always ready with a smile and a word of
encouragement. Emily began to believe in herself, and her grades slowly improved. She realized that with patience
and the right guidance, she could overcome her struggles in math. Soon, the final exam came.
The teacher stood at the front of the classroom, her eyes scanning the sea of faces. She had taught this class
for years, and each student was like a precious gem in her collection. One day, she handed a struggling student a
book and said, "This is my favorite. Read it, and you'll understand why." The student, initially skeptical, began to
devour the pages, finding solace in the words. Years later, as a teacher herself, she would pass on that same book to
her own students, whispering, "This is my favorite. Read it, and you'll understand why." The cycle of trust and
inspiration continued, a testament to the enduring power of a teacher's love.

When I was in middle school, my social studies teacher asked me to enter a writing contest. I said no without
thinking. I did not love writing. My family came from Brazil, so English was only my second language. Writing
was so difficult and painful for me that my teacher had allowed me to present my paper on the sinking of the
Titanic by acting out a play, where I played all the parts. No one laughed harder than he did.
So why did he suddenly force me to do something at which I was sure to fail? His reply: “Because I love your
stories. If you’re willing to apply yourself, I think you have a good shot at this.” Encouraged by his words, I agreed
to give it a try.
I chose Paul Revere’s horse as my subject. Paul Revere was a silversmith (银匠) in Boston who rode a horse at
night on April 18, 1775 to Lexington to warn people that British soldiers were coming. My story would come
straight from the horse’s mouth. Not a brilliant idea, but funny; and unlikely to be anyone else’s choice.
What did the horse think, as he sped through the night? Did he get tired? Have doubts? Did he want to quit? I
sympathized immediately. I got tired. I had doubts. I wanted to quit. But, like Revere’s horse, I kept going. I
worked hard. I checked my spelling. I asked my older sister to correct my grammar. I checked out a half dozen
books on Paul Revere from the library. I even read a few of them.
When I handed in the essay to my teacher, he read it, laughed out loud, and said, “Great. Now, write it again.”
I wrote it again, and again and again. When I finally finished it, the thought of winning had given way to the
enjoyment of writing. If I didn’t win, I wouldn’t care.

A few weeks later, when I almost forgot the contest, there came the news. I was informed that I won the
first prize in the writing contest and that there would be an award presentation in two days. I was so happy
to hear the news that I immediately shared it with my teacher. “I knew you’d win! I am proud of you. You
made it!” he said excitedly. Then came the big day. When I was invited to the stage to receive the award, I
expressed my thanks to my teacher. I said, “It’s you who make me fall in love with writing, my social studies
teacher. Without your recognition and guidance, I couldn’t have written this article. Again thank you very
much!”
I went to my teacher’s office after the award presentation. My teacher was waiting for me. Holding my
hands, he said “Congratulations! You are a good writer, so keep writing.” “You know I didn’t like writing
before, but now I am crazy about it! I will try my best to create good works.” I said seriously. Since then, I
have written many good works and now I am a famous writer. I owe my success to my social teacher who is a
beacon in my life on the road to writing.

It was the day of the big cross-country run. Students from seven different primary schools in and around the
small town were warming up and walking the route(路线)through thick evergreen forest.
I looked around and finally spotted David, who was standing by himself off to the side by a fence. He was
small for ten years old. His usual big toothy smile was absent today. I walked over and asked him why he wasn’t
with the other children. He hesitated and then said he had decided not to run.
What was wrong? He had worked so hard for this event!
I quickly searched the crowd for the school’s coach and asked him what had happened. “I was afraid that kids
from other schools would laugh at him,” he explained uncomfortably. “I gave him the choice to run or not, and let
him decide.”
I bit back my frustration(懊恼). I knew the coach meant well—he thought he was doing the right thing. After
making sure that David could run if he wanted, I turned to find him coming towards me, his small body rocking
from side to side as he swung his feet forward.
David had a brain disease which prevented him from walking or running like other children, but at school his
classmates thought of him as a regular kid. He always participated to the best of his ability in whatever they were
doing. That was why none of the children thought it unusual that David had decided to join the cross-country team.
It just took him longer—that’s all. David had not missed a single practice, and although he always finished his run
long after the other children, he did always finish. As a special education teacher at the school, I was familiar with
the challenges David faced and was proud of his strong determination.

We sat down next to each other, but David wouldn’t look at me. I said gently and quietly, “No one can
change your mind, except yourself. If you desire to challenge yourself, there is nothing to do with others’
thoughts.” He sat still with a deep breath. “You have a full preparation before this event, which is the most
important reason why you show up here”, I added with a sincere tone. Hearing my words, David turned to
me tremblingly with tears spilling out of his eyes and expressed he had made a firm determination to finish
the cross-country run. His coach heard what David said and gave me a look—the kind that was more
determined than anyone else’s.
I watched as David moved up to the starting line with the other runners. The race started. It seemed
that the runway was extremely long for young children, not to mention a child with a heart disease. David
insisted on running as if he had forgotten all his weaknesses, though he was tripped over within the a few
kilometers. It didn’t take long before he picked himself up again and continued his mission. Classmates all
appeared on the racing track, cheering for him. “Come on! You can make it! We are proud of you!” they
shouted enthusiastically. To everyone’s joy, he reached the final line and ranked the 20th. It was no more
important whether he won the first place or not. It was his brave heart and strong faith that could make
something unusual happen finally.

how。

“Class, quiet please!” Ms. Tan, our teacher, called out with her arms crossed, annoyed by the noise we were
making. Once the class quieted down, she continued, “Today we have a new student joining us. His name is Luke
Orye! As you know, today is the first day of this school year. He is a transfer ( 转学) student from Sunnyfield
Primary School. I hope you will help him feel comfortable in school.” All of our faces lit up. None of us had had a
transfer student before! I gave Luke a friendly smile and waved from my seat. He saw it and gave a tight smile
back. He lowered his head to keep his eyes fixed on the ground. I also noticed that he was nervous.
Just then, I realized something. “Oh no, Mike is going to bother Luke. A shy guy like Luke might not handle it
well,” I thought. Mike was known for being mischievous (调皮). He would behave properly when teachers were
watching, but act up as soon as they weren’t looking. Every student found his behavior annoying because he loved
to play tricks on others.
When the bell rang for a break, I raced over to talk to Luke about Mike. However, Luke was out of the door
before I could open my mouth. “He probably wants some fresh air,” I thought as I sighed and slowly walked
towards the courtyard.
On my way, I saw Mike approaching Luke with a mischievous grin (咧嘴笑). “Why so quiet? Cat got your
tongue?” Mike joked, pushing Luke playfully. Luke looked uncomfortable and shifted his weight nervously. Mike
laughed heartily and clapped Luke on the back, thinking he was just having some fun.
As luck would have it, Ms. Tan walked by! She was the teacher on duty in the courtyard that day. Mike
quickly composed himself and put on his best behavior. Luke and I exchanged worried glances. I wanted to tell Ms.
Tan what happened but hesitated. “Should I get involved? This could blow up in my face,” I thought. But then I
remembered how Luke looked — like he needed someone to stick up for him.

Taking a deep breath, I walked over to Ms. Tan. My heart pounded with a mix of fear and
determination. “Ms. Tan.” I began, my voice trembling slightly, “I think Mike is bothering Luke. He was
joking around, but Luke looked really uncomfortable.” Ms. Tan’s eyes narrowed as she scanned the
courtyard, quickly spotting Mike and Luke standing together. Without hesitation, she marched over, her
stern voice cutting through the air. “Mike, come with me. We need to talk.” As Mike followed Ms. Tan, I
watched relief wash over Luke’s face. I approached him and whispered, “Don’t worry, he won’t bother you
again.”
A few minutes later, Mike returned, his face red with shame. After Ms. Tan’s serious talk with him, he
finally realized his mistakes. To everyone’s surprise, Mike sincerely apologized to Luke, his voice trembling
with regret. Luke, with a nod and an extended hand, accepted the apology. From that day on, the three of us
became inseparable. We spent lunch breaks sharing stories of our old schools, and worked together to help
Luke adjust to his new environment. That experience taught us all a valuable lesson: standing up for others
and allowing room for growth can turn conflict into lasting friendship.

Last summer, I met Leo, a boy who had just moved to our district with his family. One day I saw Leo arguing
with the librarian about a sci-fi novel. His voice boomed across the quiet library: “But the robot clearly had
feelings! The ending makes no sense!” I hid my laugh behind a selected collection of poems. Later, when we
bumped into each other at a music store in the downtown area — both reaching for the last Nirvana CD — he
grinned and said, “You pick. I’ll just borrow it from you.”
That was the start of our friendship as we discovered shared passions for rock music, comics and movies. We
spent the entire summer vacation exploring second-hand record stores, watching classic film series, and even
forming a band with some old guitars we found in my garage. Leo was always the life of the moment, his loud
voice filling the air as he belted out words of songs or mimicked (模仿) movie dialogues.
Leo wasn’t like anyone I knew. His clothes were always mismatched, and he laughed like a wolf watching a
comedy show. We read comic books, spent hours debating the plots, and sang off-key to 90s rock in his garage. But
when the school bell rang for the new semester, everything changed.
Leo’s energetic personality was not in harmony with the more reserved atmosphere of our high school. At
school, his loudness stood out sharply. In the classroom, his enthusiastic answers often interrupted the teacher; in
the cafeteria, his hearty laughter echoed through the dining hall. One day, a group of popular students pointed and
whispered as Leo dramatically performed a scene from Die Hard. I felt my cheeks burning with embarrassment.
Gradually, I began making excuses to avoid him, choosing to sit with other classmates instead. Leo’s eyes,
once bright with excitement, now clouded with confusion and mental harm. I knew I had to make a decision, but
the weight of peer (同伴) pressure made it incredibly difficult.

That night, I lay in bed, caught in a dilemma. The memory of Leo’s excited face clashed painfully with
those negative comments. After an inner struggle, I knew I should follow my heart. The next day, I saw Leo
sitting alone on a bench. Taking a deep breath, I walked over. “Hey, Leo. I’m sorry.” I admitted, “I’ve been a
coward. You’re the most amazing friend I’ve ever had, and I don’t care what anyone else says any more.”
Leo’s eyes shining, he let out his signature laugh. It suddenly hit us that we should do something for fellow
students.
We decided to start a music club at school. Our music club posters appeared the next week. Leo
organized the selection of new members, his laughter echoing through the gym as students nervously
performed. To our surprise, dozens joined — even quiet classmates hummed rock songs shyly. At the first
concert, Leo jumped onto the stage wearing his dinosaur socks and a neon jacket. “This song is for the
robots with feelings!” he shouted. The crowd roared. Watching him play the guitar wildly, I understood:
loudness is not a flaw but a charm; real harmony isn’t about being quiet, but letting every unique note shine.

Tom was in high school for half a year, yet he still didn’t adapt (适应) to the new school life. He was unwilling
to communicate with others. In class, he often felt lonely among his classmates, always lost in his own thoughts. As
a result, he became increasingly unhappy and his learning performance began to get worse.
Mr. Smith, the headteacher, noticed his unhappiness. One Friday afternoon, the teacher walked to him and
said, “Tom, I’ve noticed that you’ve been a bit down lately. Is there anything wrong? Are you willing to share your
feelings with me?” Hesitating (犹豫) for a moment, Tom said in a low voice, “I just can’t fit in here. I miss my
parents and old friends so much, and it seems that I have little in common with the classmates here.” They talked
for a long time that afternoon.
The next Monday, it was time for the class to change seats as usual and the headteacher asked Jack, an
outgoing and helpful boy, to sit next to Tom. Jack said cheerfully, “I’d like to make friends with you.” Tom was
amazed by Jack’s friendly offer, but soon felt a wave of warmth flowing through his heart. Jack started a lively

games with other classmates, and Jack would always make sure Tom was part of the fun. He introduced Tom
to different groups of students, making Tom feel accepted and confident. Tom started to take part in class
discussions more frequently and found that his classmates were actually quite friendly and interesting.
With Jack’s company and encouragement, Tom began to change. He discovered common interests with
some of his classmates, which further strengthened his sense of belonging. Not only did he start to
communicate more actively with his classmates, but he also shared his thoughts and feelings, finding his
focus and motivation in studies again. He realized that with a positive attitude and the help of kind-hearted
teachers and friends, he could get over the challenges and enjoy the joy of high school life.

People often say: Friendship is like a plant of slow growth. Emily and I are just like that. Our two families
were already neighbours. That was in the spring of 2008, the two of us were born on the same day in the same
hospital. Emily was born two and a half hours earlier than me.
When we were children, we almost wore the same clothes and even caught colds together. Later on, when we
went to kindergarten and elementary school, we were not together. However, I still remember a sentence my mother
said to Emily's mother, "Sometimes we are not together, but I still have the feeling that you are there by my side."
My best friend, Emily, and I had been inseparable since middle school. My senior year at Westfield High
School was supposed to be the best year of my life. Instead, it turned into a lesson about friendship that I would
never forget. As graduation approached, the stress of exams and college applications began to weigh heavily on
Emily and me.
Emily was a member of the school's women's volleyball team. She enjoyed socializing and didn't seem to
value her academic studies as much as I did. She always wanted to bring me to the sports field for activities. She
said it would promote learning, but I was very unwilling.
Emily and I became distant. I focused on getting into a top university, while Emily was more interested in
enjoying our last year together. Our different goals led to disagreements, and soon enough, we started to argue over
the smallest things.
One day, things reached a boiling point. We had a huge fight over a group project. Days turned into weeks, and
our friendship seemed beyond repair. We avoided each other at school and stopped sitting together at lunch. Our
friends tried to help, but neither of us was willing to make the first move. The silence between us was deafening,
and I missed her more than I wanted to admit.
It wasn't until our English teacher assigned us to work together on a final presentation that we were forced to
confront (面对) each other.

At first, we worked in tense silence. A few times, I wanted to talk to her from the bottom of my heart, but
in the end, I couldn't lose face. But as we spent more time together, the ice began to melt. One day, there was
a stage that required both of us to complete, and we cooperated very well, winning praise from the teacher.
After class, Emily stood at the classroom door, her eyes fixed on me, obviously waiting for me. Emily broke
the silence. "I miss you," she said softly, with tears welling up.
"I miss you, too," I admitted, feeling a lump in my throat " I'm sorry for being so hard on
you. I now understand that health is more important than academic performance." The words rushed out
before I could stop them. "I'm sorry too," Emily replied. "I should have been more understanding. We're
both stressed, but we shouldn't let it ruin our friendship." We hugged, and at that moment, it felt like a
weight had been lifted off my mind. We stood side by side, proud of what we had accomplished and grateful
to each other. The experience made our bond stronger, and we knew that no matter where life took us, we
would always be there for each other.

Teacher Appreciation Week arrived in Richmond, but for Katie, it felt like any other Monday — until she
found an envelope on her front door. Inside was a note asking her to open her laptop for a surprise.
Curious, she walked to her desk and turned on the screen. A video call started, and Clay, a student she hadn’t
seen for ten years, appeared with a big smile. He asked if she remembered him. Katie replied that she did and
mentioned he had always loved drawing.
Clay said she was the first person who helped him believe in himself. He recalled a moment in class when
Katie asked everyone to draw something they were grateful for. While the other students started right away, he just
sat there, unsure. Katie came over and gave him a determined look — a small act that made him feel confident.
That moment inspired him to show his gratitude. He also remembered how she took the whole class to their first
concert, a Blues Traveler show, and how it broadened their world.
Clay then said he had invited someone special to help thank her. The screen switched to a music studio where
the lead singer of Blues Traveler appeared, and sang a heartfelt song. He said Clay had told him how much Katie
meant to the whole class and that the song was for her. With tears in her eyes, Katie smiled and said, “That is the
coolest thing I have ever seen.”
After the music, Clay reappeared and told her to go outside. Katie stepped onto her front yard and paused at a
decorated truck as a crowd applauded. On a big live screen on the side of that truck, dozens of her former students
appeared one by one, waving, smiling, and calling out to her.

Katie stood still, not expecting such a surprise. Her eyes scanned the screen, lighting up as familiar faces
appeared. Laughter and cheers filled the air as each student took a turn, sharing a short thank-you. One
spoke about a time when Katie stayed late to help with homework. Another recalled how Katie comforted
them during a tough day. Katie’s hands slowly rose to her mouth, eyes glistening with tears. Her chest
tightened — not from sadness, but from joy. A professional video team hired by Clay carefully recorded
every heartfelt moment, capturing the warmth and connection filling the yard.
The video of the special moments was posted online. Katie watched it again after it was shared,
overwhelmed by the flood of comments. Many viewers expressed how they too had been deeply moved by
their own teachers. “This is the magic of teaching,” one comment read, “The relationships we build last a
lifetime, even if we don’t always realize their impact.” As Katie read through the heartfelt messages, she was
reminded that teaching is more than just passing on knowledge — it’s about offering support,
encouragement, and sometimes simply being there.

The teacher’s hand froze in the middle of writing something on the blackboard and the whole class laughed,
when Mohi rushed into the classroom. Having recovered from his initial shock, the teacher turned around to face
the rest of the students. Gradually, the laughter died out.
“Sorry,” Mohi said quickly and hurried to his seat.
Mohi was jokingly called “little Einstein” by his classmates, because he was so absent-minded that he rarely
showed up with appropriate clothing. Today, he wore a pair of funny green shoes that were too big for his feet. And
his half-buttoned shirt revealed a very silly red underwear. Actually, Mohi’s classmates always looked forward to
such moments that helped to brighten up their otherwise boring school life.
Although his classmates found Mohi amusing, they ignored him most of the time. And Mohi seemed too
absorbed in his own thoughts to care about making friends with them, either. Mohi’s only friend was Hamed, who
sat beside him.
One day, Mohi did not show up at school. After school, Hamed decided to walk over to Mohi’s house to check
on him. As he approached the gate, he could hear violin music. “Mohi has never played music at school,” he
thought. “Maybe, he is listening to a record.”
He called Mohi’s name several times but there was no response. As the gate was not locked, Hamed let
himself in. His eyes widened in surprise: At the center of the living room, Mohi was lost in playing the violin. With
his eyes tightly closed, Mohi played so beautifully that the music seemed like coming from a classic record.

When Teachers’ Day came around, a good idea occurred to Hamed. It was the tradition of the class to
have a concert for their teachers on Teachers’ Day and every student could volunteer to play his or her
favorite music in front of the class. Hamed shared his idea with Mohi. At first, Mohi was unwilling to play.
After Hamed told him how talented he was in music, Mohi eventually agreed to have a try.
The teachers and students were surprised to see Mohi walk onto the stage with a violin. They had never
seen him play any instrument or sing a song in public. But as soon as he started to play, they fell silent. As the
last note ended, there was a moment of silence, which was followed by thunderous applause. After the
applause died down, Mohi cleared his throat and said shyly, “Thanks to my teachers and classmates for
tolerating my absent-mindedness. Thanks to Hamed who always tries to see the best side of me.”

My parents do a lot of embarrassing things! Usually, it’s my dad who sings silly songs or tells jokes around my
friends. But a few weeks ago, it was my mother who played the embarrassing-parent role.
While my mom and I were shopping, we ran into my teacher, who mentioned the school didn’t have a music
teacher to help our class put together a performance for Winter Fair. And, then my mom said, “I know the perfect
song and dance. I’ll teach it to the kids!”
Before I could say “Please don’t”, my mom had agreed to come to my class every morning at 9:30 for a week.
Oh, and just to be clear, it’s not as if she’s a professional entertainer. My parents run a small grocery store, and the
only singing my mom does is in the shower.
“Mom,” I said on our way home, “Are you sure this is such a good idea?” “Of course!” she said. “If we want
your school Winter Fair to happen, people need to step up and volunteer.” She laughed, “We will have fun!”
“OK, kids!” my teacher said at 9:28 on Monday. “We’re going to stop silent reading a little early today
because a special guest is here to help us with a performance for Winter Fair. Let’s all welcome Arizona’s mother.”
I looked up to discover my mom standing in the front of the room wearing the world’s silliest hat. “I’m super
excited to be here with you!” my mom said, “I’m going to teach you a fun little song-and-dance performance I
learned a few years ago. Here goes!” Oh please, oh please, I said over and over in my head, let there be a fire drill,
or a power failure, or anything to stop my mom from completely embarrassing herself-and me!
But apparently, my mom was not at all concerned about looking silly. She turned on some background music
and started singing and dancing away.

“I can’t believe this is happening” was all I could think. I closed my eyes, covered my ears and shrank as
low as I possibly could in my chair. After a few seconds, though. I gathered courage to uncover one ear and
peek through a half-open eye. That’s when I saw the expression of pure joy on my mom’s face. She was
having so much fun that I couldn’t help smiling. My classmates clapped and cheered, and I heard someone
say, “Wow! Arizona’s mother is pretty talented!”
My mom turned out to be very good at performing. She was also good at teaching us the song and the
dance steps. too. We learned quickly. By the time of the fair, I was actually proud of her for putting herself
out there for us kids. Our performance at the Winter Fair was a huge success. As we drove home, I said to
my mom, “I’m really glad you volunteered to help my class with the performance.” My mom reached back
and squeezed my hand. “Thanks for saying that. I can see why you might have been embarrassed, but I had
such a great time.”

Lily was a bright and energetic girl with a heart full of dreams. She lived in a small and comfort town where
everyone knew each other. One sunny morning, Lily’s teacher announced a school talent show. The news excited
Lily immediately, as she had always loved singing and dreamed of performing on stage.
Without hesitation, Lily signed up for the show. She chose her favourite song and started practising right away.
Every day after school, she would go to the park and sing her heart out, imagining the big stage and the cheering
audience. However, as the days passed, Lily faced a big problem. She found it difficult to reach some of the high
notes in the song. No matter how hard she tried, her voice just wouldn’t cooperate.
Lily started to feel discouraged. She thought about giving up and withdrawing from the talent show. But deep
inside, she knew that giving up was not an option. She remembered the words her father always told her, “When
life gives you challenges, face them with courage and never give up.”
Determined to overcome the obstacle, Lily decided to ask for help. She went to her music teacher, Mrs.
Brown, and explained her problem. Mrs. Brown was very kind and patient. She listened to Lily sing and then gave
her some useful tips on how to control her voice and reach the high notes. She also encouraged Lily to practise
regularly and believe in herself.
With Mrs. Brown’s guidance, Lily practised even harder. She spent hours every day working on those difficult
notes. Sometimes she felt tired and depressed, but she always reminded herself of her dream. Finally, the day of the
talent show arrived. Lily was nervous but excited. As she stepped onto the stage and saw the audience looking at
her expectantly, her heart raced. But as soon as the music started, she took a deep breath and began to sing.

Lily poured her heart and soul into the song. Standing on the stage, her eyes closed, she swung gently
with the music. Her voice resounded powerfully and obviously, hitting every note perfectly, especially those
high notes that once troubled her. Veins slightly bulged on her neck as she reached for the climax part, and
her hands took fast hold on the microphone. The audience sat out of their mind, their eyes fixed on her.
When she finished, the whole auditorium erupted into thunderous applause. Lily’s face lit up, and she felt a
sense of pride and achievement wash over her, a huge smile spreading across her cheeks.
After the show, Lily’s friends and teachers crowded around her. Her friends, eyes wide with admiration,
said, “Lily, that was incredible! Every move was so accurate and full of emotion.” Teachers nodded in
agreement, adding, “Your devotion really shone through. The countless hours of practice were evident.” Lily
stood there, a shy smile on her face. Glancing around at their supportive faces, she truly understood that
through her own hard work, never-giving-up spirit and the encouragement she’d received, she was capable
of reaching any goal. This performance wasn’t just an event; it was a life-changing lesson she’d treasure
forever.

Sara was a high school student who was known for her hard work and desire for perfection. Whenever a task
was given to her by the teachers, she always wanted to do it perfectly. This sense of responsibility made her a
favorite among teachers, but it also placed heavy pressure on her shoulders. She feared making mistakes and would
often stress over even the smallest of errors.
One day, a painting competition was announced at the school. Sara eagerly decided to participate in the
competition. Painting had always been one of her favorite hobbies, and she loved the idea of competing. The
winner would receive a prize, and while that sounded great, Sara was glad to have the chance to prove herself.
However, this time painting didn’t feel fun. Each time she picked up her brush, a heavy feeling of anxiety clouded
her thoughts. The fear of not being the best in the competition controlled her.
As days passed, it became increasingly difficult for Sara to concentrate. While other participants were making
progress, Sara was caught in her thoughts. She couldn’t even decide what to paint. Images of her competitors
confidently working on their pieces filled her with a sense of inability. With only two days left before the
competition, Sara’s anxiety grew worse. She spent the entire day with negative thoughts, feeling unworthy and
untalented.
At school, Sara saw her classmates close to finishing their artwork, their laughter and excitement going
sharply against her internal struggles. The pressure to perform perfectly had turned into an intense fear that kept her
from even picking up a brush. Sara began to doubt her abilities, believing that she couldn’t finish anything well.
She felt lost in a cycle of anxiety, and the joy she once found in painting seemed to fade further away. With each
passing moment, she questioned whether she should even participate at all, fearing that failure would only prove
her worst beliefs in herself.

Seeing Sara’s trouble, her teacher asked her to come to him and showed her a beautiful glass cup. Sara
had never seen such a beautiful glass piece before. But suddenly, the cup slipped from her teacher’s hands
and broke into pieces. A wave of sadness spread over her face. Her teacher looked at her face and said softly,
“Beauty lies in imperfection and welcoming imperfection is an act of self-love and acceptance.” Then he
began repairing the cup with golden glue, making it even more beautiful than before and gave the cup to
Sara as a gift.
Looking at the well-repaired cup and reflecting on her teacher’s words, Sara decided to paint without
worrying about perfection. As Sara let go of her anxiety, her painting became more beautiful. On the
competition day, Sara accidentally spilled water on the painting before submitting it, but instead of
panicking, she calmly added raindrops to her artwork, making it even better than before. When the results
were announced, Sara won the second prize. She was happy about the result but, more importantly, she
learned a valuable lesson: Being perfect all the time isn’t necessary, because beauty lies in imperfection, and
accepting small faults makes us human.

The whole class burst out laughing as Mohi rushed into the classroom. He was a strange sight. His half-

he wore a pair of bright green sandals (凉鞋) that were twice the size of his feet. The physics teacher’s hand froze
in the middle of writing a formula on the blackboard.
Mohi said in a low voice, “Sorry, teacher,” and ran hurriedly to his seat. Mr. Tan glared at the rest of the
students. The laughter quickly died down. Mohi’s classmates always looked forward to Mondays. They would be
entertained by Mohi’s late arrival, odd appearance, and inappropriate clothing.
Mohi lived just a street away from the school. He walked to school every day. Students passing by on the bus
would yell his name together just to see him jump and stop in his tracks. When he spotted the merry bunch on the

that it sounded like a recording. Hamed left quietly. When Teachers’ Day came around, Hamed had a plan.

It was the school’s tradition to have a concert for the teachers. Having seen Mohi’s excellent violin skills,
Hamed encouraged Mohi to have a try. Mohi hesitated. However, seeing Hamed’s determined look, he
decided to perform. The whole class was skeptical when Hamed recommended Mohi. But they finally agreed,
considering the shortage of performers. On the day of the concert, as Mohi started to play, the entire
auditorium fell into silence. The sweet and melodious sound of Mohi’s violin filled the air, fascinating all who
heard it. When the last note ended, the audience burst into thunderous applause.
Mohi became a hit and had many fans at his school. His classmates no longer laughed at his funny

Music had always been my safe place. Ever since I was six years old and first touched those black and white
keys, the piano became my voice when words failed me. My parents said I would spend hours at our old upright
piano, making up little tunes before I even learned to read notes properly. That’s when Mr. Wilson entered my life
as my piano teacher. He was different from other teachers while others focused only on technique, Mr. Wilson
always said, “Your playing may not be perfect, but it’s full of feeling.”
Last year, our city hosted its annual Youth Piano Competition. When Mr. Wilson suggested I participate, my
hands turned cold with fear. “I’m not ready,” I protested (反对). But he smiled and said, “Music isn’t about being
the best, but it’s about sharing your heart.” For three months, I practiced John Denver’s “Country Road” every day
after school. Mr. Wilson helped me arrange a special piano version that started softly like a whisper and built to an
emotional climax.
The day of the semifinals arrived. Backstage, I could hear the previous contestant playing flawlessly (完美无
When my name was called, my legs felt like jelly. The first few measures went well, but then at the most
difficult transition, my mind went completely blank. My fingers kept moving automatically, but the wrong notes
rang out like alarm bells. I managed to finish the piece, but the disappointed look on the judges’ faces said it all.
For weeks after the competition, I avoided the piano altogether. Then one rainy afternoon, I heard music
floating up from downstairs. It was Mr. Wilson at our piano, playing my mistake-filled competition performance,
note for wrong note. And yet... there was something strangely beautiful about it. The way he played those “wrong”
notes with such certainty made them sound intentional, like they belonged there all along.

I listened quietly as Mr. Wilson played my failed performance. Tears filled my eyes as Mr. Wilson played
my failed performance, making every wrong note sound beautiful. “These aren’t mistakes,” he said gently,
“they’re your heart speaking.” I shivered as the music surrounded me — the nervous parts now sounded
honest, the rushed parts full of strength. Where I’d only heard failure before, he showed me the true feelings
I’d put into the music without realizing. My breathing became uneven as I finally understood: being real was
more important than being perfect. Tears fell onto the piano keys, shining in the light as they celebrated the
surprising beauty of my imperfect but brave performance.Paragraph 2 (77 words)
A year later, the competition poster caught my eye. “Will you try again?” Mr. Wilson asked. I smiled and
nodded. This time, I played without fear. As the final notes faded, the audience erupted in applause — not
the polite kind, but the warm. An elderly woman even wiped her eyes. Mr. Wilson patted me on the shoulder
contently. It was then that I realized touching someone’s heart was worth more than any first prize. Good
music isn’t about perfect notes, but about sharing true feelings.

Linda walked out of her apartment building and was shocked at what she saw. Overnight, the building
opposite had acquired graffiti (涂鸦) in dark colors. Though well drawn, the images were full of negative contents.
Worst of all, huge letters read: “HATE THE WORLD.”
As an art teacher with a deep love for children, Linda couldn’t help but wonder about the reasons behind such
a depressing message. What could drive the kids to express themselves in such a despairing manner? Were they
lacking the warmth of a loving family? Confused and concerned, she decided to keep an eye out for them.
Three days later, Linda got her chance. She caught sight of two teenagers adding to the graffiti as she returned
home. To avoid alarming them, she parked her car at a distance and observed. Their style matched the previous
graffiti, confirming her suspicions. Eager to engage with them, she approached. However, the two boys spotted her,
and started running away. “Wait!” Linda called out, her voice gentle but firm. “I just want to talk. You won’t be in
trouble.”
The boys hesitated, and then stopped, their expressions a mix of unease and curiosity. “Did you two create the
graffiti?” she asked in a soft tone. The taller one looked somewhat frightened but nodded, “Yeah... we did.”
Linda explained with a relieved smile, “I’m an art teacher. Your works are creative, though...” She paused for a
while and continued, “I could give you some lessons if you like... and get you more paints, in bright colors.”

When the boys understood her intention, their faces registered both surprise and doubt. They exchanged
a hesitant glance, and the shorter boy asked with both hope and disbelief, “Really? You’d do that for us?”
Linda nodded with a warm smile, “Of course. Art should be a way to express yourself and to bring beauty to
the world, not hate. I believe you have the potential to create something truly meaningful.” The boys looked
at each other again, this time with a glimmer of excitement in their eyes. Their initial wariness slowly melted
away under Linda’s genuine offer. “In that case, we’re in,” the boys said happily.
They chose the old art studio at the back of Linda’s school as their “base”. Over the next few weeks,
Linda spent her afternoons with the boys, teaching them various techniques and introducing them to
different art styles. Their skills grew, and so did their confidence. The transformation in their artwork was
remarkable. They began to use bright colors, and their themes shifted to hope and dreams. The change
wasn’t just in their art; it was in their outlook on life. Linda had given them a gift far greater than just art
lessons; she had shown them a different path, one where they could express themselves positively.
