高兴), a surge of joy (一阵喜悦)
A wave of elation washed over him as he finally understood.
如释重负: relieved, a sigh of relief (松了一口气)
自豪: proud, a sense of accomplishment (成就感)
She felt utterly devastated by the news.
A sudden feeling of... / It suddenly hit/struck him that...
回忆涌现: Memories came flooding back.
内心挣扎: be torn between A and B (在A 和B 之间挣扎), inner conflict (内心冲突)
下定决心: make up one‘s mind, be determined to, with renewed determination (带着重新燃起的决心)
颤抖地拿起: pick up sth. with trembling fingers
雨: drizzle (毛毛雨), pour down (倾盆大雨), the rain lashed against the window (雨点抽打着窗户)
光: sunlight filtered through the leaves (阳光透过树叶), moonlight bathed the ground (月光洒满大地), twilight
All of a sudden, ... / Suddenly, ... / Out of nowhere, ...
Meanwhile, ... / In the meantime, ...
Eventually, ... / Finally, ... / In the end, ...
Shortly after, ... / Before long, ...
From that day on, ... / Ever since that day, ...
It dawned on him that...
It was not just about ... but more about...
The experience left an indelible mark on his heart.
Terrified / Petrified:
Scared / Afraid:
✗
terrified。
✓
She was a little scared of the tiny spider.
Upset:
Sad:
Devastated:
✗
devastated。
✓
He felt really upset about his exam.
Whisper(低语)表现亲密或神秘;Stammer(结巴)表现紧张;Exclaim
“走”: Stroll(闲逛)表现悠闲;Trudge(跋涉)表现疲惫;Dart(猛冲)表现迅捷。
✓
He walked into the dark room nervously.
升级:He crept into the dark room, his heart pounding.
 Tears (
✗
Tears rolled/streamed down her cheeks.
 The smile (
✗
笑容) 不能 spread to his face。 A smile spread across his face. 或 A smile appeared on
his face.
He smiled **brightly/happily**. She
cried silently/bitterly
 very terrified
✗
 completely silent
✗
: Silent
 He shouted silently.
✗
 She smiled sadly.
✗
在一段紧张铺垫后,用 All of a sudden,... 或 Just then,...
✓
A loud crash came from the kitchen, interrupting their
conversation. (比 Suddenly, there was a loud crash...
易错点8:and then, and then 流水账
✗
He stood up. And then he opened the door. And then he went out.
✓
Standing up, he opened the door and went out. 或 He stood up, opened the door, and stepped out
into the night.
With renewed determination,
he...。
示例:段首句是 I decided to try. Taking a deep breath, I decided to try. 或 With everyone's eyes on
me, I decided to try.
It was more than a (victory/help); it was a lesson about (courage/friendship).
Looking back, I realized that (what mattered was not the result, but the effort).
From that day on, I have always believed that...
公式:Doing A, 主语 did B. 或 主语 did A, doing B and doing C.
示例:Holding the trophy tightly, she burst into tears of joy. (优于 She held the trophy and cried.)
Her hands trembled, and a warm current surged through her heart.
First, Second”
Moments later, ... / Just as he was about to give up, ... / Following her guidance, ...
A sudden noise caught his attention. / The smell of rain filled the air.
He was very happy.
改写:A wave of overwhelming joy swept over him, making him feel like he was walking on air.
Bursting into the room, he slammed the door shut and leaned against it, breathing heavily.
The moment I saw the old photo, everything came back.
My fingers trembled slightly as I traced the faded edges, and a bittersweet ache settled in my chest.
关键词汇调用:panic, calm down, take a deep breath, figure out, perseverance, a sense of accomplishment
During a hiking trip with my family, I wandered off the path to take a closer look at a rare flower. When I turned
back, they were nowhere in sight. The dense forest suddenly seemed much larger and more silent.
Paragraph 1: I tried to call out, but my voice was swallowed by the vast woods.
Paragraph 2: Just as despair began to creep in, I noticed something on the ground.
关键词汇调用:conflict, regret, hesitate, mend the relationship, a heart-to-heart talk, reconciliation, tears of
forgiveness
I had a big argument with my best friend Lisa over a silly misunderstanding. We both said things we didn‘t mean.
For days, we avoided each other in school, but the cold silence was unbearable.
Paragraph 1: One afternoon, while cleaning my drawer, I found the handmade friendship bracelet she gave me
years ago.
Paragraph 2: I knew what I had to do.
关键词汇调用:stage fright, summon up courage, take the plunge, beyond one's expectations, pride, a valuable
lesson
The speech contest was approaching, and my name was on the list. The thought of standing in front of the whole
school filled me with dread. Every time I practiced, my mind went blank.
Paragraph 1: The night before the contest, my grandfather sat down with me.
Paragraph 2: Walking onto the stage, I took a deep breath and looked at the audience.
I was very afraid.
升格:A chill of fear ran down my spine. 或 My heart was pounding wildly against my ribs.
She was very happy when she saw her mother.
你的升级: __________________________________________________________
Overjoyed at the sight of her mother, she rushed forward, her face beaming with a radiant smile.
He walked into the dark room slowly and carefully.
你的升级: __________________________________________________________
Holding his breath, he crept into the pitch-dark room, his eyes straining to see in the gloom.
I don‘t know,” he said nervously.
你的升级: __________________________________________________________
I don’t know,” he stammered, avoiding eye contact and fidgeting with the edge of his shirt.
She felt sad and cried.
你的升级: __________________________________________________________
A profound sadness gripped her heart, and silent tears began to roll steadily down her pale cheeks. (使
用 gripped her heart 和 roll down cheeks 的具体描写替换笼统表达)
Finally, he understood the truth.
你的升级: __________________________________________________________
It suddenly dawned on him that the truth had been in front of him all along. (使用 It dawned on him
that...
With the old book in my hands, I felt a strange connection.
Its leather cover felt warm and familiar, as if it belonged to me. Driven by curiosity, I carefully
opened it and found a note tucked between the pages. My heart skipped a beat when I read the handwritten words:
“Your story begins now.” Driven by
My heart skipped a beat
Hearing the news, he was very devastated and burst into tears suddenly.
② burst into tears suddenly 中
Hearing the news, he was devastated and burst into tears.
The smile spread to her face, and she felt very delightful.
错误分析: ① 搭配错误,spread to her face 应改为 spread across her face。
A smile spread across her face, and she felt truly delighted.
The hiking trail was much steeper than Tom had expected. Halfway up, a thick fog rolled in, swallowing
the path ahead. His phone had no signal, and he was alone.
Tom’s heart pounded with a mix of fear and determination as he tried to recall the map.
Just as panic threatened to overwhelm him completely, a faint, distant sound broke through the silence—the steady
flow of water.
a surge of panic
summon up courage (鼓起勇气)
glimmer of hope (一线希望)
trudge forward (艰难前行)
a sense of relief (解脱感)
My brother Tim and I were examining a shoebox in our house. He took the top of the box off as he said we
could use this box to catch a cold breeze.
My family lived in a small desert town where the only breezes that blew were hot winds, especially in
summer. I didn’t understand what my brother was talking about, but he was several years older, so I trusted him.
“A story says kids can catch a cold breeze using a box and enjoy it whenever they want,” Tim continued.
“When you open the box, the cold wind will blow out and brush against your face.” I was surprised and asked
whether it was true. He gave a nod.
Because our parents would take us to the snow-covered, windy mountains for fun the following weekend,
Tim decided he’d secretly use this shoebox to catch a cool breeze. And he said he’d give the breeze-filled shoebox
to our parents as a gift on their birthday. Our parents shared a birthday, which fell on a hot August day. “I want to
give them a surprise letting them enjoy the cool wind,” Tim said joyfully. Greatly inspired, I also wanted to give
our parents the same gift and found another shoebox.
At the following weekend, our family went to the mountains. Tim and I ran back and forth with our boxes,
attempting to trap the cool breeze. After our boxes were full, we quickly closed the boxes. When we arrived home,
Tim stored our boxes in the garage refrigerator. “It’ll enable us to store the cold breeze,” he smiled. From that
moment on, I kept an eye on our boxes. My greatest worry was that they would be thrown out accidentally.
When summer arrived, our local temperature kept rising. And we had an unusually hot July day. One day,
when Tim and I sat before our door, attempting to cool off, the two shoeboxes kept coming to my mind. I was so
hot that I wanted to open my box to cool off.
注意:
1. 续写词数应为150 左右;

One possible version:
Secretly, I headed to the garage, without noticing Tim following me. My fingers trembled as I opened the
refrigerator and pulled out my shoebox. The heat outside made my heart race — I just needed a little relief. Just as I
lifted the lid, Tim’s hand gently stopped me. “Wait,” he whispered. “If you open it now, there’ll be nothing left for
Mom and Dad.” I froze, staring at him, sweat dripping down my forehead. He smiled softly and closed the box
again. “The surprise is worth the wait,” he said, placing it back carefully. I nodded, feeling a strange mix of
disappointment and pride. That moment taught me that sometimes, giving means holding on — even when you’re
burning up inside.
Finally, our parents’ birthday arrived, and Tim and I excitedly took out the shoeboxes. We presented them
with big grins, explaining how we’d captured mountain breezes just for them. Our parents exchanged amused
glances but played along, opening the boxes with exaggerated awe. A warm gust from the garage swirled out — but
they closed their eyes, pretending to feel cool wind. “Ah! So refreshing!” Dad sighed dramatically. Mom hugged us
tightly, her voice tender: “Best gift ever.” We knew the breeze wasn’t really cold anymore, but their joy was real.
And in that shared laughter, under the scorching August sun, our hearts felt cooler than any mountain wind.

In a small, friendly town where neighbors knew each other well, lived Emily and her best friend, Grace.
They had been inseparable since childhood, sharing everything from secrets to dreams. Emily and Grace were both
members of the school’s drama club. They were excited about the upcoming school play, where Emily was chosen
for the lead role, something she had dreamt of for years. Grace was happy for her, helping her rehearse and offering
support.
As the day of the play approached, tension and excitement were high. During a dress rehearsal, Emily
accidentally overheard Grace expressing doubt about Emily’s ability to handle the lead role to another friend. Emily
felt betrayed and hurt. She confronted Grace, who was tolerant and tried to explain, but Emily was too upset to
listen. Their friendship was in danger, casting a shadow over the upcoming performance.
Emily’s hurt feelings affected her performance. She found it hard to concentrate, her lines slipping away as
she dwelt on Grace’s words. She avoided Grace, and their friendship grew cold.
Grace tried to apologize, explaining that her words were taken out of context and that she had always
believed in Emily. But Emily was too hurt to accept her explanations. The misunderstanding between them grew,
affecting not just their performance but their mutual friends as well.
On the night of the performance, Emily’s nerves were on edge. As she stepped onto the stage, her heart was
heavy with the loss of her friendship. The play started, but midway, Emily forgot her lines. The audience fell silent,
and a wave of panic swept over her.
Just then, Grace, from behind the curtains, whispered the forgotten lines to Emily. Hearing her friend’s voice,
something shifted in Emily. She realized that despite everything, Grace was still there for her. Emily regained her
calmness, delivered her lines correctly, and the play was a success.

After the curtains fell, Emily found Grace. She saw the genuine concern and regret in Grace’s eyes. In that
moment, Emily understood the power of forgiveness. Holding onto her hurt feelings wasn’t only harming their
friendship but was also hurting herself. Emily forgave Grace, not just in words, but with a heartfelt hug. They
talked it out, understanding that miscommunication happened and that their friendship was strong enough to
withstand misunderstandings.
Their reconciliation (和解) brought back the joy in their lives. They learned that forgiveness is not just about
the other person but also about freeing oneself from negative emotions. Their friendship grew stronger, built on a
deeper understanding and respect. The experience taught Emily and Grace, and those around them, an important
lesson about the power of forgiveness. It showed them that everyone makes mistakes, but the willingness to forgive
and move forward is what truly strengthens friendship.

Li Ming loved spending his summer holidays at his grandfather’s house by the sea. He liked looking for
interesting shells and watching the seabirds fly.
One quiet afternoon, Li Ming was walking near some large rocks when he noticed something troubling.
Plastic bottles, old fishing nets, and colorful bags were scattered across the sand. He had never paid much attention
to this before, but today the mess seemed especially bad. As he bent down to pick up a broken bottle, he heard a
soft, sad sound nearby. He looked carefully and saw a gray bird lying on the sand. Its leg was tangled ( 缠结) in an
old fishing net. The bird was trying to escape, but every move seemed to make things worse. Suddenly, Li Ming
understood: the trash (垃圾) he had just seen was not just ugly — it was dangerous.
Li Ming felt a strong wish to help. He slowly moved closer, but when he reached out his hand, the bird
became very frightened and struggled wildly. Li Ming stepped back, worried and unsure.
Just then, he heard a kind voice behind him. “It needs careful help,” the voice said. Li Ming turned and saw
an old man. Grandpa Chen, a retired fisherman, knelt down and opened his bag. He took out scissors and cloth,
then gently covered the bird’s head to keep it calm. Slowly, he began to cut the net.
After several minutes, the net was cut. The bird stood up and flew into the blue sky. Li Ming felt a big smile
on his face. He looked down at the broken net and some trash on the sand. Grandpa Chen said, “This beach is home
to many creatures. Sadly, trash like this appears almost every day.”
Li Ming helped Grandpa Chen pick up the cut net and other plastic bags and bottles nearby. As they worked,
Li Ming thought deeply. Saving one bird was wonderful, but the beach was very large, and the problem was very
big.

From that day on, Li Ming decided to turn his worry into action. Every weekend, he would take a thick trash
bag and walk to the messy beach, carefully picking up plastic bottles, broken fishing nets and all kinds of litter on
the sand. Grandpa Chen next door often joined him, chatting and sharing warm stories of the clean and beautiful
sea in the old days. Gradually, more neighbors noticed their efforts and came to help, making the beach cleanup a
regular small activity in the community.
Realizing that his and his neighbors’ power was limited, he thought of using the Internet to get more people
to join in the protection. He took photos of the polluted beach and the little bird he saved, writing a sincere appeal
and posting them on social media. His post soon became popular, drawing many warm-hearted volunteers from
nearby towns and villages. They organized regular monthly cleanups together and put up obvious warning signs to
stop visitors from littering. By the end of summer, the beach had taken on a new clean look, and Li Ming truly
understood that small kind efforts could make a huge difference to the world.

For our long-service leave, my husband and I decided to travel around Tasmania with our camper trailer (野
We were coming all the way across Western Australia to get there — not exactly a “lap of the map”, but
still a big trip. We’d packed our bikes, surfboards and our dog.
It was all going beautifully until we got to St Helens in Tasmania. We were looking forward to hitting the
bike trails and the beach. But what was meant to be a fun day of mountain biking quickly turned into a stressful,
late-night rescue when my husband broke his leg on the trail.
Thanks to the incredible local emergency services, he was located, rescued and airlifted to hospital. As I
watched him being flown off the mountain by helicopter, relief flooded through me — and then reality hit. I was
now solely responsible for the dog, the vehicle and the camper trailer still set up back at the campsite. Packing up
the trailer was a two-person job. My family and friends were 4,000 km away in Western Australia. And my dog
needed a walk!
The next day, new neighbours arrived at the campsite. Exhausted and worried, I managed a small smile as a
man named Sam said hello and began setting up with his wife. I wondered what they thought — a solo woman with
a dog, no partner in sight, and a camper trailer full of gear (齿轮).
Eventually, Sam’s curiosity got the better of him. He asked a few gentle questions and, after two days of
silent stress, the whole story poured out.
Sam listened patiently, kindly. He nodded, said little, and returned to his own camp. That evening, he and his
wife, Hillary, did something extraordinary. With no hesitation, they told me they’d pack everything up for me.
“Tasmania has given us a warm hug, “they said. “Now we want to pass that hug on.”

The next morning, true to their word, they arrived ready to help. And what followed was no small task. My
husband, still in a hospital bed, talked us through the process over the phone. It was complex and physically
demanding. Piece by piece, with calm and methodical care, Sam worked it all out, while Hillary offered
encouragement, guidance and good humour. After two hours, the camper was ready to go. It would have taken me
days on my own and, even then, I’m not sure I could have done it.
But their kindness didn’t stop there. They invited me to join them for dinner and a seat at their campfire,
sharing their food, their warmth and their company. I hadn’t realized how much I needed that simple kindness. It
felt like the first deep breath I’d taken in days. I will never forget that holiday. Not just because of the accident, or
the brilliance of the emergency services, but because of Sam and Hillary. They gave me a warm Tasmanian hug —
just when I needed it most.
