词根词缀法:如 predict(pre-前,dict 说)→ 预言
address
The government must address the environmental crisis.
appreciate
We need to appreciate the complexity of the issue.
candidate
This theory is a strong candidate for explaining the phenomenon.
pupil
The doctor examined the dilation of his pupils.
yield
真题例句:The experiment yielded unexpected results.
objective / subjective / neutral
critical
Critical of sth → 批判;Critical to sth → 关键
theory / hypothesis / assumption
effect / affect / impact
Effect (n.) 效果
Affect (v.) 影响
Impact (n./v.)
However, Nevertheless
Similarly, Likewise
For instance, e.g.
Thus, Consequently
找并列(and, or, as well as) → 意义相近
例:He is prudent and cautious.
He is not extravagant but frugal.
The phobia, an irrational fear, affected his life.
只看你之前整理的“熟词僻义”(如 address, appreciate, yield, critical)和逻辑关系词(however, thus,
similarly)。
(Before Reading)
预判:圈出题干里的“What can we infer...”、“The author's attitude...”、“The main purpose...”
(While Reading)
(While Choosing)
(Distortion):
“must”(一定)。
(Final Check)
点A(题干关键词) 在原文的哪里?
(The main idea/purpose is to...)
(It can be inferred that... / What can we learn?)
(The word “...” most probably means...)
