件以及事件的发展顺序带来一定的难度;
度;
1. 瞅空行事定考向:根据空格所在的三种位置确定考向,以保证解题时不走弯路;
2. 跳过空格看全文:跳过空格浏览全文,抓住全文主旨和各段主旨,以保证解题思路正确;
3. 研读选项划关键:研读选项划出其中的关键词,以保证解题有的放矢;

My husband and I just spent a week in Paris. ___36___ So the first thing we did was rent a fantastically
expensive sixth-floor apartment the size of a cupboard. It was so tiny that we had to leave our suitcases in the
hallway.
The place wasn’t entirely authentic, though. Unlike a normal Parisian apartment, the plumbing(水管)worked.
___37___ Our building even had a tiny lift with a female voice that said, “Ouverture des portes,” in perfect French.
That is the only French phrase I mastered, and it’s a shame I don’t have much use for it.
Parisians are different from you and me. They never look lazy or untidy. As someone noted in this paper a
couple of weeks ago, they eat great food and never gain weight. ___38___ French strawberries do not taste like
cardboard. Instead, they explode in your mouth like little flavor bombs.
___39___ On our first morning in Paris, I went around the corner to the food market to pick up some
groceries. I bought a handful of perfectly ripe small strawberries and a little sweet melon. My husband and I agreed
they were the best fruit we had ever eaten. But they cost $18!
In France, quality of life is much more important than efficiency.
You can tell this by cafés life. French cafés are always crowded. ___40___ When do these people work? The
French take their 35-hour workweek seriously—so seriously that some labor unions recently struck a deal with a
group of companies limiting the number of hours that independent contractors can be on call.
A. Not all the customers are tourists.
B. The quality of life in France is equally excellent.
C. There was a nice kitchen and a comfortable bed.
D. The amazing food is mainly consumed by local farmers.
E. That’s not the only reason the French eat less than we do.
F. Our aim was to see if we could live, in some way, like real Parisians.
G. The food is so delicious that you don’t need much of it to make you happy.
37. C
38. G
39. E
40. A
36. 上文“My husband and I just spent a week in Paris.(我丈夫和我刚在巴黎待了一周)”说明了背景;下文
“So the first thing we did was rent a fantastically expensive sixth-floor apartment the size of a cupboard.( 所
项“Our aim was to see if we could live, in some way, like real Parisians.”(<因为>我们的目的是要看看我们
C 项“There was a nice
They eat great food and never gain weight(他们吃得
French strawberries do not taste like cardboard(法国草莓吃起来并非
The amazing food is mainly consumed by local farmers(美味的食物主要由当地农民
下文“My husband
and I agreed they were the best fruit we had ever eaten.
E“That’s not the only
reason the French eat less than we do.(这并不是法国人吃得比我们少的唯一原因)”承接了上一段关于法国
40. 根据空格处后的“When do these people”得知,these people 肯定是指前面提过的人,那么空格处要填入
France, quality of life is much more important than efficiency.<
B.The quality of life in France is equally excellent.<法国的生活质量同样出色>,就可以直接排
除B 选项):
A. Not all the customers are tourists.
D. The amazing food is mainly consumed by local farmers.
When do these people work?(这些人什么时候工作呢?),这里的 these
French cafés are always crowded. Not all the customers
are tourists. When do these people work?
France, quality of life is much more important than efficiency”,直接点明法国生活品质的特点。B

This year, I received an exciting message from the
Science Center: out of nearly 2,000 applicants, only 40 high school students were selected to take part in their
famous summer program, and I was one of them! ___36___.
For the two-week summer program, I chose to focus on a biology project. My research centered on
investigating the presence and impact of bacteria(细菌)in different water sources — specifically comparing wild
lake water with home pool water to determine which was more harmful. ___37___. Those are two fields I’m
deeply passionate about.
The laboratory work was challenging but extremely rewarding. I remember the first day I set out to collect
water samples. The lake was peaceful, but beneath that calm surface hid something far less harmless. In contrast,
the pool’s crystal-clear water seemed almost too clean, and I wondered how the tests would turn out.
___38___. The process involved culturing the bacteria, monitoring their growth and comparing the results
from both sources. When the data finally came in, it was both shocking and enlightening. The pool water was
surprisingly clean, with hardly any bacteria present. On the other hand, the lake water, despite its beautiful
appearance, was full of bacteria — definitely not safe for drinking. ___39___.
Once my experiments were complete, I poured all my energy into writing a detailed report. On the last day
of the program, I had the opportunity to present my work to a group of 15 mentors(导师). ___40___ — I was not
just a student; I was like a scientist sharing my discoveries with the world.
A. Back in the lab, I analyzed the samples
B. Standing before them, explaining my project, I felt proud
C. I hope to undertake a biomedical project at the Science Center
D. My time at the Science Center has given me a clear sense of purpose
E. These results highlighted the hidden dangers that untreated water can pose
F. The moment I opened that letter, I knew this was going to be a life-changing experience
G. This topic interested me because it combined both environmental science and public health
F 37. G 38. A 39. E 40. B
36. 前文“This year, I received an exciting message from the Science Center: out of nearly 2,000 applicants, only
40 high school students were selected to take part in their famous summer program, and I was one of them!
讲述“我”的暑期项目经历,因此F 项“The moment I opened that letter, I knew this was going to be a
37. 前文“My research centered on investigating the presence and impact of bacteria ( 细菌) in different water
sources—specifically comparing wild lake water with home pool water to determine which was more harmful.
Those are two fields I’m deeply
passionate about.
“This topic interested me because it combined both environmental science and public health (这个课题吸引
的“environmental science and public health”是后文的“two fields”所指的对象,故选G。
The process involved culturing the bacteria,
monitoring their growth and comparing the results from both sources. When the data finally came in, it was
both shocking and enlightening.
项“Back in the lab, I analyzed the samples (回到实验室后,我分析了样本)”符合语境,指出回到实验室
39. 前文“The pool water was surprisingly clean, with hardly any bacteria present. On the other hand, the lake
water, despite its beautiful appearance, was full of bacteria — definitely not safe for drinking.
全标准)”对比了泳池水和湖水的细菌检测结果,因此E 项“These results highlighted the hidden dangers
that untreated water can pose
40. 前文“On the last day of the program, I had the opportunity to present my work to a group of 15 mentors (导
示报告,后文“I was not just a student; I was like a scientist sharing my discoveries with the world.
before them, explaining my project, I felt proud
“ 我” 汇报时的感受,其中的“ proud” 与后文的“ not just a student” 和“ a scientist sharing my
discoveries with the world”呼应,故选B。

people who enjoyed insect bites, ill-cooked meals, and uncomfortable sleeping bags. They had nothing in common
with me. ___36___
The friends who introduced me to camping thought that it meant to be a pioneer. ___37___ We slept in a
tent, cooked over an open fire, and walked a long distance to take the shower and use the bathroom. This brief visit

for my son’s food poisoning.
I was, nevertheless, talked into going on another fun-filled holiday in the wilderness. ___38___ Instead, we
had a pop-up camper with comfortable beds and an air conditioner. My nature-loving friends had remembered to
bring all the necessities of life.
___39___ We have done a lot of it since. Recently, we bought a twenty-eight-foot travel trailer complete
with a bathroom and a built-in TV set. There is a separate bedroom, a modern kitchen with a refrigerator. The trailer
even has matching carpet and curtains.
___40___ It must be true that sooner or later, everyone finds his or her way back to nature. I recommend that
you find your way in style.
A. This time there was no tent.
B. Things are going to be improved.
C. The trip they took me on was a rough one.

36. 上文 They had nothing in common with me
We sleep in a tent, cooked over an open fire, and walked a long distance to take the shower and use
Instead,we had a pop-up camper with comfortable beds and an air conditioner
39. 由第三段第一句going on another fun-filled holiday 可知,“我”对这次旅行非常满意,而由下文 We

(2026 届福建省泉州市高中毕业班质量检测一)In The Boy That Could Fly, Michael is an orphan (孤儿)
adopted by a loving couple and grows up like any ordinary boy—until something extraordinary happens.
___36___ Doctors are shocked to discover that his body is developing something impossible: a pair of real,
functioning wings.
At first, Michael is amazed by his ability to fly. He flies through the sky, feeling free and weightless, like the
birds he’s always admired. ___37___ News of the “flying boy” spreads quickly, and everyone wants something
from him. Scientists demand to study him, convinced he could change human history. Reporters dog him for
interviews, turning his life into a freak(怪胎)show. Some criminals kidnap(绑架)him, hoping to profit from his
powers. Michael realizes how dangerous his gift really is.
With the help of his adoptive parents and a few loyal friends, Michael fights to regain control of his life.
___38___ But the world won’t let him. The story follows his struggle to protect his freedom while facing fear,
greed, and the cruelty of those who see him as a freak.
___39___ Michael’s wings make him unique, but they also make him a target. Some people admire him;
others want to lock him away. Through his journey, the story asks: What does it mean to be different? Should he
hide who he is to fit in; or can he find a way to live openly without fear?
In the end, it’s a tale of courage and belonging. Though Michael’s wings give him the power to fly, his
greatest challenge isn’t staying in the air. ___40___ The author combines fantasy with real-world themes, showing
how society treats those who stand out and what it takes to stay true to yourself.
A. But his joy doesn’t last long.
B. It’s finding a place where he can truly land.
C. At first, Michael enjoys his newfound ability.
D. One day, he begins feeling sharp pains in his back.
E. Beyond the adventure, this is a story about acceptance.
F. Now, Michael flies openly, joining rescue teams to save lives.

D 37. A 38. G 39. E 40. B
In The Boy That Could Fly, Michael is an orphan adopted by a loving couple and grows up like any
D 选项“One day, he begins feeling sharp pains in his back.(有一天,他开始
Doctors are shocked to discover that his body is developing something
正能运作的翅膀)”,“sharp pains in his back”正是翅膀生长的前兆,逻辑衔接紧密,故选D。
At first, Michael is amazed by his ability to fly. He flies through the sky, feeling free and weightless,
like the birds he’s always admired.(起初,迈克尔对自己的飞行能力感到惊奇。
News of the “flying boy” spreads quickly, and
everyone wants something from him.(“会飞的男孩”的消息迅速传播,每个人都想从他身上得到些什
A 选项“But his joy
doesn’t last long.(但他的快乐并没有持续太久)”承上启下,既总结了上文的喜悦,又引出下文的负面遭
遇,故选A。
With the help of his adoptive parents and a few loyal friends, Michael fights to regain control of his
world won’t let him.(但世界不会让他如愿)”可知,本空应表达迈克尔的内心愿望或斗争动机。G 选项
“He doesn’t want to be an experiment or a celebrity—he just wants to be himself.(他不想成为一个实验品
of those who see him as a freak(那些视他为怪胎的人的残忍)”形成对比,情感连贯,故选G。
39. 下文“Michael’s wings make him unique, but they also make him a target. Some people admire him; others
want to lock him away. Through his journey, the story asks: What does it mean to be different? Should he hide
who he is to fit in; or can he find a way to live openly without fear?(迈克尔的翅膀让他与众不同,但也让他
E 选项“Beyond the adventure, this is a story about
40. 由上文“Though Michael’s wings give him the power to fly, his greatest challenge isn’t staying in the air.(尽
B 选项“It’s finding a place where he can truly land.(而是找到一个他能真正着陆的地方)”运用

I’ve done my share of stress-eating with ice cream or
distracting my anxiety by buying something online that I don’t need just to give myself a lift. ___36___
But when it comes to true self-care, I’ve found what really works for me. It doesn’t cost anything, except for
investing in new shoes every eight months—running. ___37___It has also been a comfort to know that I can do it
when I need to as a way to ground myself and appreciate the good stuff in my life.
How did I begin running? My sister Lorie is an inspiring athlete who introduced me to running almost 5
years ago. ___38___ About six months later, I ran my first 5K road race and loved it. Racing is fun because you’re
part of a group enjoying the outdoors and smiling at people cheering you on.
___39___ Heading out the door alone for a quick 5K is something I usually do. I’ve always liked setting my
own schedule, so running is like self-care I can control. Plus, you can make it as hard as you want it to be. That
depends on how fast or how far you want to go. That really works for me. I like to feel energized, and running
certainly does that. It has helped me cope with the lows of my depression.
And as I’ve learned over the years, you can’t avoid stress from your life, but you can counter it with
relaxation in whatever form works best for you. ___40___ However, adding in the effort of running makes it an
overall self-care win for me.
A. It has helped me deal with difficult emotions.
B. Only in this way can you live a stress-free life.
C. However, I didn’t believe and refused to have a try.
D. Some people get that me-time with a hot bath or a great book.
E. I’m happy, though, to just run by myself in my neighbourhood.
F. The way I “fix” myself isn’t always healthy or well-thought-out.
G. As a beginner, I started out by running five minutes and walking a minute.
F 37. A 38. G 39. E 40. D
I’ve done my share of stress-eating with ice cream or distracting my anxiety by buying something
online that I don’t need just to give myself a lift.
F 选项“The way I “fix” myself isn’t always healthy or well-thought-out.
37. 根据上文“It doesn’t cost anything, except for investing in new shoes every eight months — running.
It has also been a comfort to know that I
can do it when I need to as a way to ground myself and appreciate the good stuff in my life.
A 选项“It has helped me deal with difficult emotions.
系,故选A。
How did I begin running? My sister Lorie is an inspiring athlete who introduced me to running
almost 5 years ago.
接触了跑步)”以及下文“About six months later, I ran my first 5K road race and loved it.
G 选项“As a beginner, I started out by running five minutes and walking a minute.
Heading out the door alone for a quick 5K is something I usually do. I’ve always liked setting my
own schedule, so running is like self-care I can control.
E 选项“I’m happy, though, to just run by myself in my neighbourhood.
And as I’ve learned over the years, you can’t avoid stress from your life, but you can counter it
with relaxation in whatever form works best for you.
However, adding in the effort of running makes it an
overall
self-care win for me.
D 选项“Some people get that me-time with a hot
bath or a great book.
