 考点01 五选五
(2026·福建·中考真题)阅读下面短文,从短文后所给的五个选项中选出能填入短文空白处的最佳选项,
使短文通顺、连贯,意思完整。
A white cane (手杖) is a tool that helps blind people walk safely on their own. It did not become widely used
until the 1920s. In 1921, an Englishman painted his cane white so that drivers would see him easily. 1 Today,
white canes continue to provide blind people with a safer way to live their lives.
What can we do if we meet someone with a white cane? 2
The first rule is to be respectful. Many white cane users can move around by themselves and may not need
help. 3 If they accept your help, follow what they say carefully instead of guessing what they need. Usually,
it is best to offer your arms for them to hold onto instead of pulling their arms.
4 The cane is an important tool for safety. Taking it away can cause confusion (混乱). Even if the cane
is put down, don’t move it without permission (许可). Its user needs to know exactly where it is to find it again.
It is wonderful that people are willing to help white cane users. 5 Take a moment to learn how to
treat them with respect. We can create a world where they can walk safely and proudly.
A.Here are some rules to follow.
B.However, not everyone knows how to do so properly.
C.So, always ask if they need help before giving them a hand.
D.Another rule is never to touch a white cane while it is in use.
E.His idea spread and led to similar products in other countries.
(2026·河南·中考真题)Have you ever heard of the word “spring-cleaning”? Humans have been doing this
for quite a long time to welcome brighter days with fresh beginnings.
1 Humans are part of nature. When trees grow new leaves and birds build their nests in spring, people
feel it is a good time to say goodbye to unwanted things and freshen up their rooms.
Spring-cleaning is good for you in lots of ways. When spring arrives, you naturally have more energy. Like
any exercise, tidying gets you moving and improves your mood (心情). 2 Also, cleaning as a family brings
everyone closer because you’re working together. When your room is clean, you feel proud of yourself and look
forward to having fun in it.
3 Start by clearing one place at a time, like a table, drawer or corner of a room. Put everything into a
group, then sort (将……分类) them into smaller groups of things you want to keep, sell, donate (捐赠) or throw
away. The best way to tidy up is to make it fun. You can turn it into a game by setting a timer and seeing how many
things you can put away before it runs out. 4
People around the world do spring-cleaning. During the Songkran Festival in Thailand, people clean their
homes and splash water in the streets to wash away bad luck. 5 It is believed that “sweeping the dust (灰尘)”
makes way for good luck.

C.Why do people give everything a good clean in spring?
D.Chinese New Year starts with a spring-cleaning day called Sao Chen.
E.Throwing away old things can clear your mind and help you to relax.

Flowers can make a colorful natural world. Spring is a perfect time to explore them. 1 . Know the

Imagine you have just cleaned your classroom. Then a strict teacher in school walks in, looks around, and
gives you a big smile. 1 But this time the testers are birds.
In recent years, groups of rare (稀有的) birds like black storks and egrets have been seen along the Fenhe
River. 2 These birds are very picky: they only live near clean water. Their arrival makes the river full of
life.
Things were quite different in the past. There were few rare birds. 3 Because the river was polluted
seriously. Then the government started a plan to bring the river back to life. Workers spared no effort to turn dirty
water into clean water. 4 These wetlands helped clean the water. The water quality has improved a lot.
5 There are more plants growing in the wetlands. More and more birds choose the Fenhe River as

ennifer Heldmann is a planetary scientist. Her team at NASA is looking for water on the moon and Mars (火星),
which will help decide if astronauts can live in these places.
When Jennifer was 10 years old, she saw the movie Space Camp. 1 She loved the movie and became

When their team learned that there was some form of water on Mars, they began to wonder: Is there anything
living in the water? 3
They also do research in Iceland and Antarctica, through which they learn how ice and water work in cold
environments. 4 They can know how water behaves on the moon and Mars because they understand how it
behaves on Earth.

(2026·江苏连云港·中考真题)It is exciting to welcome a cat into your family, but it is also a huge duty. And
you’ll expect a lot of changes in your life. 1
Most of us will bring home a kitten (小猫), once they’re around nine weeks old and stop drinking milk from
their mum. 2 They are always running around, climbing curtains, and getting up to all kinds of tricks.
Luckily, they also sleep a lot and can be cute.
It is a good idea to get a grooming (梳毛) brush. Getting your kitten used to a little grooming time each day will
make life easier in the long run. 3 In this way, it will be easier to put it into the basket if you have to take it
out.
If you are taking in an older cat, they will be calmer and need less care than a kitten. Still, they feel
uncomfortable in the first few weeks after moving to a new house. 4 Make sure they have plenty of places
to hide.
Whatever the age of the cats, prepare two litter boxes for each cat in the home, and these should be in some
private areas, where there is not a lot of foot traffic.
5 Cats don’t like drinking water that is near their food. You also need to keep both bowls away from
the litter box. Cats won’t want to eat or drink if they can smell their litter.

We use language for all kinds of reasons, but the major one is to talk to each other. We use it to have a chat,
play a game, tell jokes, ask for help, and do a thousand other things. 1 The everyday use of language is to
have conversations with each other.
Having a conversation seems like the most natural thing in the world. We don’t think twice about it now. But
it wasn’t always that way. We had to learn how to do it. 2
What’s the most basic rule of having a successful conversation? We take turns. I speak and then you do and
then I do and then you do. 3 In an argument, we do sometimes hear a lot of people speaking together. But
once the argument ends, everyone takes turns again.
This is especially important if there are several people taking part in a conversation. Imagine: you’re in the
street talking to three other people about the latest film Dear You. 4 If it’s going to be a successful
conversation, then all four of you need to get the chance to have your say. If that happens, everyone’s happy. If that
doesn’t happen, you can end up feeling quite mad.
5 We have to learn how to do it. And babies start that learning process (过程) very early on, during the
first year of life. They hear their mother talking… they coo or babble... the mother replies… they coo or babble
again… the mother replies again. Listen-speak-listen-speak-listen. That’s the key of any conversation. We have to
learn to be listeners as well as speakers.
A.We had to learn rules.
B.We don’t speak at the same time.
C.Some people are always cutting in.
D.Turn-taking doesn’t come naturally.
E.Everyone has got something to say about it.
F.None of these could happen without language.
G.We have learned all the sounds in our language.

Calm (冷静的) Communication
Imagine how loud and bad it would be if everybody shouted at each other all the time. Keeping calm helps
people communicate better.
    1
Calm communication means speaking clearly and calmly, listening carefully and choosing kind words. When
you’re calm, it’s easier for you to share ideas, hear others and deal with problems.
What happens when you shout?
2 However, people may not really remember what you say. This is because when someone shouts at
you, your brain lets out stress hormones (激素). 3
How can you communicate calmly?
When you’re sad or angry, staying calm can be hard. If you feel like shouting, what can you do? 4
Think about what you want to say. Think about questions like: 5 Is it necessary to shout out? If not, try
explaining your feelings more clearly and politely. Think about your goal before speaking. If you want to make
yourself understood, staying calm gives you a better chance.
A.Is it kind and polite?

C.What is a successful speech?
